Madonna's 'Get Together' is being released in the UK the same day as 'Minimal', so if she most probably gets a #1, #2 is the best that the Boys can score.

My vote is for a #5 maximum.

Looking at the current chart and songs out this/ next and the following week, I think Minimal will be top 20, 16-20.
Just hope its enough to bump up album sales a bit. Otherwise...no 3rd single!?

I see no-one is optimistic, which is what is needed and also, I havn't read anyone on this forum planning to purchase all formats of the single seperately which is very much required as 3 seperate purchases counts as 3 sales. The vinyl is only to keep the single in the chart for longer, why it is released at a later date.

In what way is being optimistic going to boost sales? The power of positive thinking!?
I just think, looking at the other records out, hearing them ALL THE TIME on the radio/ music tv channels and going by I'm with stupid sales figures and I think, in all reality, Minimal will be a top 20 hit. I think it deserves much more but am not sure it will happen. If it boosts album sales a bit I will be happy whatever the singles chart position, which means less and less every week these days anyway.
They will need to sell around 13,000 to get #10. If the first single, with "that" video did just over 14,000 what do you honestly think Minimal will do?
And I shall be buying all 3 formats, at different stores so they definitely count as individual sales, plus downloading them all too.

I think you're wrong on both counts, actually. Contrary to what some people claim, buying all three formats in the same shop DOES count as three units sold. And I believe the vinyl format of Minimal is not chart eligible so releasing it at a later date won't have any bearing on the charts.

I've been a fan ofthe PSBs since they started and I've become pretty good at predicting where their singles will chart. However, with Mimimal, it's a little different. As it's now being player on Radio 1 and Capital, I'm getting the impression (from people in the office, friends, etc...) that it's being regarded as a 'comeback' of sorts. It's hard to explain, but you know how sometimes an established act releases something that gets through to non-fans (kind of like Depeche Mode and Enjoy the Silence), well, I think it might happen here too. Somebody mentioned that Minimal is the PSB song it's cool to like - how true that is may have have a large impact on it's sales.

minimal stands a go a chamce of being top 10 but NUMB would definitely be top 5 everyone loves it....

however all the old school PSB fans have interest inM I N I M AL so we dont no....

But every single until Single (Bilingual) was playlisted by Radio 1 AND capital and they weren't Top 5 hits.

Its the competition that worries me, lots of strong new releases and songs already in the top 5/ 10 that seem to hang around a lot longer - in part due to downloads, which PSB seem to struggle with. I bet Nelly f***'s 'Minge eater' will still be higher than Minimal come the chart in a fortnight.

Just a couple of things...

Nobody said Minimal would be number 2. Read again:

Next Sunday (30/7), to answer your question. Or of course this Sunday if it's available for downloading. And midweek positions often float around from Tuesday or Wednesday, but are often a bit optimistic for fanbase-driven bands like psb.

cool - for some reason i thought the single was already out. I saw it for purchase download on 7digital.com (the remixes, anyway).

I will definitely be ordering the import copies via amazon.com/uk - gotta have the b-sides!
