Too Many Promos?

#1 Post by One of the crowd »

As a collector, I am obviously thrilled when a new PSB release comes along. There's a great sense of satisfaction obtaining all the relevant releases and promos and stuff.

But with this campaign, is it me or does there just seem to be too many promotional only issues.

Unless Im wrong, so far we've seen... (UK only)

01. I'm with stupid 1 track Promo CD
02. I'm with stupid 4 track CDR
03. I'm with stupid 6 track CDR
04. I'm with stupid 6 track Promo CD
05. I'm with stupid Promo 12" #1
06. I'm with stupid Promo 12" #2
07. I'm with stupid Promo 12" #3
08. Fundamentalism #1 Promo 12"
09. Minimal 1 track Promo CD
10. Minimal 10 track CDR
11. Minimal 10 track Promo CD
12. Minimal Promo 12"
13. In Private Promo 12"
14. Fundamentalism #2 Promo 12"
15. Fundamentalism #2 CDR

When you start adding the standard releases to the equation, collecting PSB is getting more and more expensive...

01. I'm with stupid 7"
02. I'm with stupid CD Single
03. I'm with stupid DVD Single
04. I'm with stupid EU CD Single
05. Fundamentalism 12" #1
06. Minimal 7"
07. Minimal CD 1
08. Minimal CD 2
09. Minimal DVD
10. Fundamentalism 12" #2

So far this lot has cost me over £250!!!!

I totally agree it is getting extremely expensive, and don't forget the fundamental interview cd, but when you are obsessed as most of us I think you get used to not having any money when the boys release new material lol :D
if you can't always be good at least always be kind...

There is no need to collect. You choose.

I choose just to get every track they release... preferably on CD (or CDR if that's all it's available on)

For example, I don't even have any of the Home And Dry singles because the US Release bonus disc left them pretty much redundant.

It's about the music after all... not some cheap CDR compiled by some goon at Parlophone.

Tip: forget the CDRs

And you forgot the Dutch 2-track cd-single (cardboard sleeve) of I'm With Stupid, and all the digital downloads of remixes.

As you said.... collecting PSB is getting more and more expensive. Which is exactly why I already gave up on this nonsense a few years ago. I only buy the formats I really need. Only cd-singles with unique tracks/versions on it and certainly no vinyl when it contains nothing special.
