or Mermaid.

Its kind of very PSB, while not very PSB, if you see what I mean.

I love the PSB idea of unplugged being a stage full of musicians, a full orchestra plus guests! If that's unplugged then what the hell is plugged?!
in suits or sequins/or twin sets and pearls

I meant unplugged as opposed to being in a studio and having everything set neatly with machines and shite.

I don't hate Minimal, I quite like it, especially some of the remixes. it figures in my last.fm charts quite often. IMO, it's a fine song, but nothing to write home about. frankly, I didn't and still don't see people other than fans scrambling to buy it.
Ultimately it's an edited version of an album track with an arty video. And it's about minimalism. It was never going to be number one till the end of the summer.

It's the age old argument about what the purpose of a single actually is - I think it's the strongest track on Fundamental so therefore ideal for advertising how good the album actually is.

I'd prefer Luna Park as a third single because I think it's the strongest ballad (apart from I made my excuses and left which is simply too short without the intro) but I suppose a remixed Integral would work with a scary dystopian video.
I guess that's the question - what kind of single would work for PSB at this point of their career. should it go with the trends, or should it be a departure. I tend to prefer the latter. they've got very little to lose, really, when I think about it. they can take a lot of risks at this point in their career.

I love Excuses and have been wondering whether a slightly remixed version where the intro shortened a bit, varied slightly and incororated more into the main frame of the song might work. or maybe the song itself lengthened somehow. I've been playing it for some of my friends and family and a lot of them are amazed at the sheer beauty of the composition and also neil's voice -- the way it jives effortlessly with the music. I'd love this as a single too.
I wooooooooooooooood if I cooooooood...
