It counts towards record sales but is not chart eligible, apparently. A CD, a DVD & downloads is all you are allowed. So I'm with stupid 7" didn't count either, I guess.Does the 7" count towards record sales.
Good of them to satiate the vinyl freaks out there but ultimately a little pointless. At one point I thought it was a clever trick for slowing down the inevitable second week chart plummet but seemingly not.

I really like the vinyl releases - the Minimal one is particularly attractive. What else can you get for £1.99? It takes me back to the halcyon days of Domino dancing with that fabulous inner sleeve listing the component parts of the track.
What I want to know is whatever happened to the power of the pink pound? If PSB really are the gayest group ever why isn't every single going straight in at number one? Could it be that their fan base is mostly composed of thirty-something hetros with an unhealthy interest in eurodisco? Surely not.

If you need to sell about a thousand copies to enter the Top 200, I can't unfortunately say that it's much of an achievement. If you only need about 3000 copies to re-enter the Top 75 – like this week – surely that's the minimal satisfactory result you could have with a splendid single like Minimal.kimphilby wrote:I don't think Nighlife or Release re-entered even the Top 200 following subsequent single releases, did they? (
Besides, iirc Nightlife rose to about # 100–120 with Drunk – but that was January.

Yeah it is definately 3 phyiscal formats and downlaods that count. So in this case CD 1, CD 2 and DVD are the formats that count towards the chart.Undertaker wrote:I think you can only have three formats that count towards the charts (not including downloads here) and we have already had them. CD1, CD2 and the DVD. If the vinyl doesnt count this week, i don't think i'll bother.
