I'm not fond of Leuven and I hear it gets terribly crowded, but it's Pet Shop Boys! What else can I do?

Why you are not fond of Leuven?

I can recommend you a good book on the history of the town. Can't promise it'll be as overwhelming as Churchill's biography, though

Oh dear... it's just personal really, I've always had this "distaste" for it. Could be the fact that I went to uni in Ghent as opposed to the uni in Leuven, since then I've always been prejudiced about it. Who knows, Monday might make me change my mind completely.
If I don't get acute claustrophobia or anything

My friends have been unanymous about joining me: "Marktrock? Oh no, I'll never go there again, it's so crowded you're lucky to make it out without a cracked rib". Aaaaack!

Yes, I have the same opinion.
I don't like festivals as this. I've seen them in Bonn and I hope they use the same stage-construction with the panels. I don't know if there is enough place at the stage for the other artists.
When they don't use it, I will be disappointed.

Setlist: The Hits with Shopping, Rent and Dreaming of the Queen, Psychological, Minimal, S&G (great show), Integral, and as extra: Its a Sin and Go West.
Nice show! Oude Markt is beautiful!
Sound close to the stage was not so good, too much basses.

The concert was fantastic. I tend to be rather critical of PSB live shows because I often find they lack a little something, maybe soul. My favourite tour by far has been the Release tour. Performing the hits in smaller venues with a full band gave a lot of their songs an extra whooph (Domino Dancing being a highlight) that is sometimes missing in their other tours.

I fully enjoyed last night's performance, though. The set was amazing, very inventive. They had this kind of giant rubix cube onto which images were projected. The cube would morph into different shapes and sizes. Sometimes the dancers or Neil (for Rent) would be inside the cube. It was a great backdrop, not something you see often at outdoor festivals.

It was great to hear the songs from the new album. They fitted very well into the setlist. S&G Show and Integral got great receptions. Both tracks have got great choruses for everyone to sing along to. The crowd was a bit slow to warm up (Psychological is a bit of a strange opener), but they really seemed to get into the swing of things from Always on my mind onwards.

Here's the setlist. It seems to be similar to the one at the other festivals.
