With the Prem season about to kick-off, I thought I'd give you my prediction league for 2006-07. (from the head not the heart, the heart would relegate Villa)!

Also the Champ League for fun (I know it's started so unfair advantage) but I'm sorry to say my teams in it. From the head again, 2006-07 end.

Pretty much agree with you on the Prem. I also agree that Pompey will have a good season. Hope you are right about Spurs winning a cup too!

I don't think Southend will go down. They will drop very few points at home and i think Derby will be placed higher. WBA will probably win it, or Birmingham.

I'm not sure Leeds and Palace will make up the top 2 although i think both will be play-offs. I fancy Birmingham for the title and WBA, Leeds, Palace, Norwich and possibly PKE to challenge. For relegation I think Southend should have enough to stay up with Colchester, Barnsley and Plymouth to go down.

So we finally buy 'Gary McSheffrey' from Coventry for 4M. We've a very young team now.

It's O.K but is Steve Bruce trying to beat Barry Fry's old record of trying to play 50 differant players in one season!

There's no way Southend (my team) will finish below Colchester!

Dave's right - home form will be key for Southend this season; as long as that's good we'll be fine. So far we've played three, won one and lost two. We've played well in all three games but have been punished for defensive errors, something we'll have to get used to at this level.

Southampton, Birmingham and West Brom will be the teams fighting it out for the two promotion spots in my opinion. I think Norwich will finish well below sixth (their away form is abysmal) and the general consensus seems to be that Ipswich will really struggle this season. Sunderland may be in trouble too if they don't shake off the losing habit - obviously I'm hoping it will be four consecutive defeats on Saturday.

It's funny how things change so much, so quickly. About a year ago Doncaster Rovers were trying to buy McSheffrey from Coventry. Cov rejected three bids from us, then closed the door.

Dutch Teletext announces today that Liverpool bought Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt. A very strong player, who was extremely important for Feyenoord. A very passionate, effective striker who scored lots of goals in the Dutch league. I'm sure he will also do well as a Liverpool player.

He looked poor when i saw him play for the Dutch in the World Cup. Although i only saw him a few times.

The Dutch tore Ireland to shreds last night. What i saw, they looked very impressive. Then again, the Irish defending was some of the worst i'd seen at international level for many years. That has to be a major concern, especially as the manager was a defender.

Huntelaar finally played for the Dutch team... (remember that name). He wasn't selected for the World Cup, although he was the big star at the European Championships for teams under 23. The Dutch team won that title for the first time ever. The Dutch national manager finally selected him now.

Kuyt only played one match in the World Cup (against Portugal), replacing Van Nistelrooy. He had to play in a different system than the 4-4-2 system he's used to. I'm sure he will do well in the Liverpool shirt.
