West End Boys in Seattle
Hello PetHeads!
My band is called West End Boys. We are an Electro Pet Shop Cabaret based in Seattle, Washington. We are planning a very special night for Saturday November 4th, the day before the Pet Shop Boys arrive in Seattle. We'll be covering all the hits and have a few surprises too.
It will be a celebration to welcome Neil and Chris and a chance to party to the music we love. The 80s girl dance troupe FANKICK! is slated to open for us. We'll be making an official announcement soon about the venue and full lineup.
Our band site is getting going, but you can hear some samples here: http://www.myspace.com/westendboys and here: http://www.myspace.com/giuliomusic
We would love everyone's help in spreading the word, and to see our Canadian friends come down to party with us on Saturday.
Also, it would be great to find ways to promote the evening, so if you have some ideas about that, let us know! We'd love to fold this into a CD-release type evening for the Pet Shop Boys.
Thanks and hope to see you soon!

there is no negative, but we already have West End Girls who`s vocal is just horrible, to my point of view. How many tributes we`ve heard were really good, I can`t remember any. It`s nice only because people remember Pet Shop Boys. But it`s better not to do covers at all than to do bad ones.
They can`t be as good as originals anyway, so why not to try to do your own music and create your own title..

just as simple as that

Well, thanks for the warm welcome!
We do this because we love the Pet Shop Boys, not to make money. I've poured quite a bit of my own time and money into this project. It's a project - for fun.
We both have various original projects that we work on. My music partner is an award winning musician in his genre. West End Boys gives a chance to have fun, sharpen our pop production skills, and learn a great deal from two masters, Neil and Chris.
And for the record, how many PSB cover acts are there in the world? How many in North America? I'd say one: West End Boys.
See you at the show!
Giulio

Hi Guilio!
I love the idea. Sorry about the negativity on here - I do wish some people would just relax a bit.
I'm a Canadian fan. Heard them when I was a pre-teen and they've been my favourite since then. I will FINALLY get to see them for the first time (!) this Autumn when I come down to Seattle (from Alberta). I would definitely love to come and see you guys the night before. I was only going to come down for the evening of the gig but now I think I'll be there a day earlier just to see your show too.
I'd love to hear you doing original PSB-style music as well, if that makes any sense. For example, would be neat to see you cover other songs in PSB-style, as if Neil and Chris had covered them. (Assuming that it would be legal) Lots of possibilities. Fankick! sounds like a neat opening band too.
I'm looking forward.
