When i played "Disco 2" at the first time, after Behaviour & Discography (missed Very at the time) in 1995, it was a real shock! Oh, long eleven years filled with hatred of this stuff. But when i bought my own legal CD at the beginning of this summer, i'm changed my opinion a little. It's still weakest in my eyes, but not terrible as it was before.

Isn't funny! :shhh:
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

The feelings of insult have weakened. But still I never listen to it.

That's my feeling too. The only way I would have had any time for D2 was if it was a b-side of a single.

For example,

1. A Different Point Of View
2. Disco 2

That might have been a pleasant surprise I guess, rather than a wasted opportunity that tainted the otherwise impressive Disco series. I wonder how much Disco 2 jeopardised potential sales of Disco 3.

Retro. :)

They must have thought that after the success of Very they could put out any old shit...and they did. I'm not saying the continuous mix shouldn't've been released, but as a Disco album? It's a total anachronism and the worst "product" they've ever released. Use it as a coaster.

Let's celebrate Domino Dancing (sep. 12 1988) and Battleship Potemkin (sep. 12 2004)instead. :D

12 years, that was a very long time ago. Not sure if I ever listened to it all the way through without stopping it or skipping to the next song.

Huh, I don't think it's that bad. Going to go listen to it now. Followed by a viewing of It Couldn't Happen Here.

 The worst PSB's album in their history! I really hate Danny Ramplin that mixed the tracks!! Afert Very, PSB had some of their most famous and danceable songs but their remixes were not good done and Rampling made a disaster with the mixing. It could be a masterpiece but it became a "tragedy". Very much better Disco 3 (my prefered between the 3 Discos) and Disco 1. The only good song in Disco 2 are Absolutely fabulous remixed by Rollo and yesterday When I Was Mad remixed by Jam&Spoon.

*LOL* Not a word about the 10th birthday of Bilingual, but here we go celebrating Disco 2 being twelve years old.

I was just trying to forget that awful Farley & Heller remix of Go West...
