Little Britain single?

#1 Post by Dipso »

Very curious indeed...

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/theatre/a ... article.do

"Neil Tennant has remixed Daffyd's closing song from the show," explains the baseball-capped Lucas, between sips of orange juice, the one who puts on the PVC hot pants to play the only gay in the village. Walliams, looking as dapper as ever in a smart jacket and crisp shirt, stops eating his granola to show me a text from the Pet Shop Boy, saying how pleased he is with the track.

I always thought Neil and Chris would make it perfect Andy and Lou characters. You don't have to think too much who would play Andy.

By the way, the song in question closes the Little Britain live show and is a Go West pastiche called (if memory serves) 'I'm gay, so get over it", sung by Matt Lucas's Dafydd character.

I also found this little item as part of a slightly longer story on Metro.co.uk:

In addition to the Christmas special, Daffyd will be making a run at the Christmas music chart number one spot. Collaborating with Pet Shop Boy, Neil Tennant, the pair will be releasing a single.
I like it here ~~ wherever it is ...

So the song features Neil Tennant and it's been remixed by Pet Shop Boys?

Don't think Neil is featured as such. It's a song called "I'm Gay" and will be credited to Dafyd, the character in Little Britain.

When they were talking about it, David Walliams just said that it was remixed by PSB.

Still... sounds like it's got the potential to be as much a PSB track as something like Absolutely Fabulous.

Show's big gay end

FOR the finale Daffyd and friends performed a version of the VILLAGE PEOPLE’s Go West.

And pal NEIL TENNANT loves the version so much he wants to record it.

Neil famously covered the original in 1993 with his band PET SHOP BOYS.

Matt told me: “Neil wants to record our version, I’m Gay. It’ll be available as a download later this year.”

ANTHONY HEAD joined Matt and David on stage for the dance routine.

Anthony — who plays the Prime Minister in the show said — said: “I’ve danced before, but not in tight polyester.”
