This is a very particular phenomenon indeed, the extended versions of slow songs that keeps the tempo and sounds of the original. There is a large catalogue of this kind of things from the 80´s...the biggest testimony of how this decade loved the pure fact of the 12"s and the extended versions, not just as a way to make a song more commercially danceable for clubs but just for the pleasure to enjoy a song in their biggest and wonderfull expression. Those were wonderful times for many of us...retrofuturist wrote: I was listening to the 12" of Jealousy the other day... no dance floor potential whatsoever, but it didn't matter..... it was extended and released on CD and vinyl. Wonderful.
