Donnie Darko / West End Girls

#1 Post by DavePSB »

Some peeps may remember that the Boys could not make an agreement with the directors of Donnie Darko regarding the use of West End Girls in the film, so another groups song was used instead.

Whilst searching through YouTube I found this... what could have been:

Chris: "I don't really like MP3's. It's like having a 1 megapixel digital camera."

Yeah, Duran Duran's Notorious was used instead. They did film the routine to the song West End girls which is why it syncs up to the dance. It was pretty amazing though that it also worked with Notorious.

It's too bad, the boys really missed out on having their song in this movie. The songs that were used in the movie were done very well and featured as a major component to the story and movie.

i really like it that way, but i think the "notorious" version made it even more absurd; i love the duran sparkle motion.

It works better with Notorious, strangely.

It is interesting to see the original version though - thanks.

Yeah I prefer the Notorious

If they had of released the PSB version... well it would have been a bit sick.... the PSB song is very adult, not sure it would have done much for the PSB image to have little girls dancing to it....
