Once you get over the fact that it's a Diane Warren song you may appreciate it more.
I'll be happy when I can actually buy a PSB without having to go over 1hour 30 minutes. I only have Minimal because my father brought it in Wales for me as all shopes around me did not stock it/have it.

My negativity is about EMI trying to f*** things up for all with piss poor promotion apart from to the fans which is more pointless than a chocolate teapot covered in milk bottles. I am also negative about with each single from Fundamental less and less store are stocking it.

PSB have ever released so I sincerely hope it will be a flop
There's no need to be like that.

So that means every song they write is about AIDS?

I'm pretty sure Diane Warren didn't write it about AIDS. The video has nothing to do with AIDS. But I'm sure we can cram some ridiculous conspiracy theory in there somewhere to make the "it's all gay" crowd happy.

No she didn't but wearing plague masks on the cover of a single concerned with death is rather piquant although it may simply be their new image.

Sure. It's a leap to go from their to AIDS however. Especially in 2006.

Think we've gone somewhat off-topic now.

Why, exactly, are people stating that because the first two singles were uptempo, they MUST release a ballad as a third single? What a load of utter tripe.

They can release whatever they like. If all they have are shitty ballads and a few decent uptempo songs, well, you don't release a poor effort like Numb for the sake of variety. Singles are meant to promote albums, not kill them dead.

Fact for you: Introspective is the best selling PSB album of all time. Its three singles were ALL uptempo.

Another fact for you: NONE of the majorly successful Pet Shop Boys singles have been ballads.

So why didn't Minimal have the desired effect then? Fundamental was dead in the water before Numb came out, so stop bitchin'.

Very is PSB biggest selling album worldwide.

Well I've done my bit and supported the Boys...I have all formats now minus the 7" (which is due next week)...I hope it makes the Top 20 at least as they are getting near to that record 40 Top 40 hits  also I'm thinking that alot of people downloaded Numb after the BBC used it when England crashed out of the World Cup (the end Montage) so can we expect lots of download sales?...

No. Download chart doesn't count 'historical' sales. Numb made #130 on the download chart the week it was used for the World Cup montage. Its sales THIS WEEK only will be eligible for next weeks DL chart.
