PSB are never gonna be top 10 and mass market - get over it and get on with enjoying the gift of music they give us.
I love how there's been a constant trickle of new songs and things since Fundamental and still get excited about every release and b-side.
Let them get on with being the best pop duo ever.
I've bought the download from 7Digital, but songwriting credits of course aren't provided. And the actual "hardcopy" disc probably won't arrive for another few days. So I'm wondering -- do the writers of "That's the Way (I Like It)" get a co-writing credit on "Party Song"?

Thanks, Naughty Zoot! I just got the discs in the mail this evening, so I have the credits now, but I really appreciate your sharing this info with me (in case I hadn't gotten the discs today!).
On the subject of singles from Fundamental, I actually think that The Sodom and Gomorrah Show is the obvious choice. It's the most Hornian track on there but even that suggests its' lyrics already exist in an old faded issue of Smash Hits! somewhere, opposite David van Day's boyish grin. Minimal's my favourite track but ultimately it's quite esoteric.
I contend that though Fundamental is a wonderful album, it really isn't chock full of singles like Very, for instance. Psychological is what it is, an extremely effective album entree; I made my excuses and left is beautiful, heartfelt and indeed heartbreaking but even allowing for the inevitable single edit, it's far too sincere for the pop charts circa 2006.
The album version of Numb is affecting but I am still uneasy about the idea of PSB releasing a Diane Warren song as a single (bit late now obviously!)
I'm with Stupid was an excellent first single and although I love Luna Park, an allegory about America would fare far worse in the charts than an actual Razorshite nursery rhyme. Similarly, neither Casanova in Hell nor Indefinite leave to remain are obvious smashes, however perfectly realised both of them are.
Integral is the obvious stomper and I'd like to see it released in the New Year but it's a political tract masquerading as a gay disco anthem and unlikely to supplant YMCA any time soon.
Fundamental's far too clever and subtle an album for the pop charts in 2006 and that's not old fogeyism, just a reflection of the times. Nelly Furtado's a prime example - I like her singles (because Timbaland is fantastic) but she's had to metamorphosise from hippy chick to hip-hop ho in order to become chart friendly.
I agree with Drico to an extent but still believe they've got a crossover hit in them. The Scissor Sisters' recent sojourn at the top of the charts makes me certain of that.
Kind of off topic, I can't wait to hear all these B-sides. I just ordered all the verisons "Fundamental" singles with Bsides and videos (I ordered the two CD verisons of "Numb", in order to help the Boys). It's like a whole other album's worth of material.
"Party Song" is well below par and shouldn't have been released. "BYT" is still pretty good although the demo hinted at something much better and was actually fine how it was. It's far too cluttered now and the "lay your hair down" bit is bloody stupid!
