Bad Amazon UK experience
Hey all,
I just received my massive $150 Pet Shop Boys order from Amazon.co.uk and four CDs cases are cracked or even smashed. One disc is damaged so badly that it skips. Most of the rest of the cases are moderately to badly scuffed. This order was very poorly packaged. The things I order from Amazon.co.uk don't usually arrive in pristine condition, but this is ridiculous.
As I live in the US, returning these items is going to be exppensive and time consuming. Something to think about if you live in the US and order from these guys.

I once orderd Bilingual Remastered and the booklet wasnt even stapled right. It was a EMI manufacturing error. but its sad when dodgy copies get in the supply of your favorite store.

Re: Bad Amazon UK experience
I have twice received faulty records from Amazon (the manufacturers' fault, not Amazon's) and on both times they have sent me straight away a new album without me having to return the faulty product.Danimal wrote:Hey all,

Yes, I had the same experience and they refund the postage but it's true the packaging is a disaster. Mostly a small cardboard box.Paulo wrote:Amazon are normally pretty good.
If you tell them they are damaged they normally ship new ones out to you without you having to send the damaged ones back. If you do return them they will refund the postage.
I'm also order for 110 $ this week and hope to get it well.
This must be the place I waited years to leave

Really? I usually order books along with cd's and they usually arrive in huge well-packed boxes.yves wrote: Yes, I had the same experience and they refund the postage but it's true the packaging is a disaster. Mostly a small cardboard box.

I once recieved a CD with a badly cracked case. The disc was fine. But I e-mailed about it anyway perhaps to prevent this things in the future (NOT) I also mentioned there was no need to send a new one. They did anyway perfectly packaged.
I suggest you take a clear picture of the damaged items and make a good discription of it and mail that to them. I sure they will take the right action.
Oh I presume you can blame US costums for it, they are not that carefull with such things.

The CDs I usually receive from Amazon.co.uk usually look like thay banged around the wharehouse a bit as for some reason CDs aren't shrinkwrapped in the UK, but this order was a real disaster. 10 CDs stuffed in one of those wrap-around packaging things instead of secured in a proper box. It would have been better if they were standard jewel cases, but these are ones that they don't sell in the US (Super Jewel Case, Double Clear CD case, CD single j-case, etc).

I'm not exactly sure, but it sounds like they want me to send the stuff back and wait a few weeks for replacements.
