how many songs

i know its a big ask but does anyone know exactly how many songs psb have written up to the last single,

Before somebody can clearly answer this question, I think you should first clarify which songs you wish to include. Songs PSB co-wrote? Songs PSB wrote for other artists? Unreleased songs?

i was thinking all songs but that would be tough to answer,or would it???

I think it's a couple of thousand if you count all the remixes too.

Well you can't count remixes because they're not individual songs and any remixes that deviate a long way from the original are generally the work of the remixer. So it isn't in the 1000's.

I think it's best to count bonafide PSB tennant/Lowe songs that have been released as pet shop boys

cant be 1000

cmon, the Bee Gees are reported to have writted 1000+ songs... and they've had a career for almost 4 decades..

PSB... 9 studio albums approx 10 tracks 9x10, plus all the miscellaneous ones (on the FL series, closer to heaven, BP,etc) plus coupla tracks written for others(eg. Dusty)..
i'd say almost 200

Oh man! i cant even write one proper song!

and this is no joke! It's the correct song count of PSB songs (all single/album tracks + Fugitive, KDX125...)

Cool to know, but does this also include songs PSB wrote for other artists, or songs PSB covered? Released stuff? Unreleased stuff? Songs they only performed live? (for instance A Powerful Friend, Philadelphia)

Yes, I believe 227 includes all songs written by PSB and officially released whether by PSB or some other artist. My count for all officially released PSB songs is 199, but this includes those not written by them (Numb, etc), although there aren't many they haven't penned themselves, is there.

- no tracks for others, except they (later) did it for themself
- no unreleased stuff

just the official released tracks I think (haven't seen the complete excel file).
