Doesn't the fact the signing is in Selfridges speak volumes? You can't even walk in one of the stores and not get charged the earth for breathing in the air.

I'd love to go, but my days of running round the country to see the guys are well and truly gone now, maybe next year if we ever get to hear about the tour.

Hi everybody! I'm new here, actually I use to read the forum but this is my forst post... :)

I'm going tomorrow and I'm soooo excited! For those who are going, when do you plan to arrive?
I've never been at a signing so I've no idea what to do...I mean, you just go there and hand them the stuff and they sign it? I suppose you could say something while they're signing but I'm sure I'll be too nervous to say anything that makes sense
:D

that's crap really, the announcement about the signing was made looooong after the book came out.
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Selfridge's signing policy is fairly standard, I think - although obviously a big pain for fans who have already bought the book. Selfridge's won't necessarily be that strict though - I have worked in bookshops before and it is quite difficult to enforce the rule during the organised chaos of a big signing session. Just make sure that you have your book in an appropriate carrier bag - preferably Selfridge's but HMV, Virgin or whatever. The shop's main concern will be to prevent shoplifting - lots of stock can easily be stolen during signings.

Have a good day everyone!

DazzerUKUK wrote:Why on earth would Foyles want loads of fans turning up with books they bought elsewhere to get signed?
Does that imply that because of the (legendary? :) ) signing in London 2001, where you were allowed to submit anything (!) Tower Records call it a day?

As if getting potential buyers into the shop is not a great opportunity already, instead of disgusting them with the given policy. Such a "double Catalogue" buyer will hardly come to Foyles happily again, or? (Not talking about those who might get there - and be such potential buyers - but won't go now.)

Ya, I was there. Both of the Boys were very talkative. We spoke about Brighton, and Chris said he didn't like our exhibition centre. I suggested another venue that Neil took interest to, and said he'll speak to their agent :D

Yep - I was there, although I didn't get there until around 1925 due to it taking 90 minutes to get from Brick Lane to Selfridges in a cab. Urgh!

Can't really comment on how long the queue was as I arrived so late, but I was given a ticket number 147 so that's a pretty good indication. Philip Hoare was also there, but no Chris Heath. You were rushed through very quickly by Selfridges staff. Chris was writing people's names on the book then signing followed by Neil....and before you had time to ask "When are you anouncing the UK Tour" you found yourself back out on the street.

They did sign the book very neatly though (unlike other signed items I have which look like a child attacked them with a marker pen) so I'm very happy and it now has pride of place on my coffee table.
