Yo, Mr. Dopeman, you think your slick;
Ya sold crack to my sister, and now she's sick.
But if she happens to die, because of your drug;
Im puttin' in your culo, a .38 slug!

I don't think Fundamental is as exciting as some of the others..

It's a bit like Behaviour in that respect.

However, a great album.

I want an Introspective!! :D

Still listen to it several times a week, up there with Behaviour for me.

Also would love an Introspective or Very Relentless album.

Wonder how long we must wait for new music?.... probably 2009 or 2010?

Seems so far away :(

I usually never play all tracks of PSB albums, there are always some which I skip..

Funda was good, but with the whole hype of it being another Behaviour and Integral being another Go West were unfounded ! Minimal, Sodom and Casanova in Hell are the enduring classics from this LP, the first a glorious pop song for all times (like Heart) Sodom has a great singalong quality and Casanova is class for being funny, touching and featuring neil's best vocal delivery. Luna park and Integral are good as well, but nothing new to the ears. Indefinite leave to remain, twentieth century, psycological are all well written, but the music leaves a lot to be desired...its all too plodding for me. Made my excuses has an intro too long and boring, while I'm with stupid and Numb, didnt excite me from first listen..

I think my general first impression remain and I agree, they could have included Fugitive to give the album that zing. Overall its more cohesive than Nightlife and certainly more interesting than Release IMO

All the rest I put together since they all contain some terrific tracks, but I never listen to any of the earlier albums all the way through. In fact, I very rarely play them. That is where the hits packages, (Mostly Discography) come in. The other disks come in for tracks like 'Kings Cross' and 'I'm Not Scared'.

The album is average IMO, I didnt like the singles that came out except for Numb.

This ranks higher than Release and Disco 2 but that isnt hard to do.

I think that's probably a pretty typical list, by and large. Fundamental is a bloody good album IMHO, but lacks a certain spark.

If there's one thing Fundamental lacked, it was zing. We haven't really had any zing for ages. Although you're right - Fugitive had it. I think Neil and Chris are too old for it now. Less zing, more Horlicks.
Thank God it's Mum's night off

I know it's all opinion, but to not like psychological is surprising, it's SO electronic and stripped back it's amazing. More of this stuff would be great, like Fugitive.

I also play 'I made my excuses and left' the most, the intro with Chris singing forlonely into his phone is always touching.

It's my favourite thing they've ever done. I find each track distinct and interesting, and it goes through a lot of ups and downs, rather than Behaviour's sameness(although great, it's still my second favourite), which I think music should try to accomplish; hit all the emotions. I find it has no bad points or songs, probably because I love Twentieth Century, I dunno, it just appeals to my musical tastes more than any other of their records. I admit Very might be better critically, but I just prefer this album. It's possibly my favourite record by anyone, but it is still rather early.
