It is not official of course.
I don't know who needed to release this album in Russia.
This record was very cheap. Also we had DM Violator, George Michael and etc on vynil.
It looks very cheap, but it was very cheap.
That was a time when Poland and Bulgary did millions of fake on cassetes, CDs...
Poland was super fake country, you even can't image how many pirate stuff they sold.
it's a long story. In 80-s we recorded cassetes in special stores, becouse there wasn't
legal foreign music. I remember only Modern Talking (Germany), they release in the USSR
their album. The most popular band was DM. Millions of people in Russia grown to their music. I thnik DM is the most popular band in the USSR/Russia ever.
This Behaviour was something like a gift to us... In 1992 I didn't know about singles,
12',7' Ltd editions... When I saw Dissapointed on TV I have thought that Pet Shop Boys
renamed their band to Electronic.
Becouse I didn't have any info.
A little bit later we had german mags like Pop Corn, Bravo in russian.
Only then we knew some info about foreign bands and artists...

Please, don't speak about anything you don't know - at least, you didn't live under communism. Don't want to be an advocate of this regiment or another, and being such politicised and going offtopic, but post like this is really sort of eyesore for some of us. Please, be courteous and keep a civil tongue. Excuse me for my brusque and expressive speech, but my history just cried to me for equity.DJ Danny C wrote:If anyone ever needed persuading that communism was a bad thing - NO PET SHOP BOYS!!
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

How dare you respond to an innocuous post of mine in such a manner. I can't imagine what you found so offensive that you had to respond like that.Drem wrote:Please, don't speak about anything you don't know - at least, you didn't live under communism. Oh, and you don't need to have lived under an oppressive regime to know what oppression is, and you certainly don't need to do so to make jokes about it. That's what "free speech" is all about - sorry that it's such an alien concept to you.

You know that communism and PSb are two different things.
You don't know was it bad or good. I know that we hadn't homless people and we all worked, we traveled, we were happy and... Foreigners think that The USSR was something like prison for us. It's not truth, absolutely. There was better time then now. Now everyone thinks about bussines, money and etc...
Don't take it personaly
