Last night's game was won by the manager. Benitez totally outwitted Rijkaard in every way. Barcelona had the players to rip Liverpool to pieces, they have the players to tear any team to bits, yet they played right into Liverpools hands by playing narrow. Liverpool were able to double up everytime Barcelona had the ball. They were never once stretched. When Liverpool had it, all they did was knock it down the channels into space, rather than to feet.It took the pressure off all the time.

A 1-0 home defeat wasn't justified but Liverpool qualifying, was.

Bitter about that Mickey Mouse competition? Hardly. I'm still pissed off about being robbed of the title in 1989 though. 18 league titles and 5 European Cups softens the blow, however.

Hmm...I'm almost as gutted about losing to PSV tonight as I was after the final last year. One shot on target tonight from PSV after a needless foul at the corner flag by Hleb and they score from the freekick. Hope Liverpool get PSV in the next round and thrash them.

Well, we already played PSV twice in the group stages (0-0 away, 2-0 at home) so I'd be quite happy to draw them again.

I was at that home game and we played them off the park. Arsenal really ought to have beaten them, but Koeman did to Arsenal what he did last season against us with Benfica - 1-0 home win and an away goal leaving the English side needing 3 to win.

As a Liverpool fan I quite like Arsenal but glad that PSV got the better of them tonight, wouldn't fancy drawing Arsenal in the Quarters given recent form against us.

Still, its an open competition and Fridays draw should prove very interesting.

It has to be said that the Champions League has become a total farce in terms of entertainment. These teams are suppose to be the best in Europe but you can probably count on one hand the amount of good games there are. Its become a total bore to watch.

Manchester United are by far the worst culprits. The two games against Lille have been a joke and their games in recent years have been the same.

It might be a better option to make every game a one off. Cut out this two legs crap.

Are you kidding? The Barcelona-Liverpool games were both great, the PSV-Arsenal one was thrilling, the Valencia-Inter one had moments of genuine excitement... those are the only ones I saw, but I find it hard to believe I saw the only good ones in the round.

Although anyone who watches United deserves what they get

I watched the Man Utd game because i wasted money on a bet. I wont make the mistake of watching that drab again.

The Liverpool games were alright from a neutral point of view. Obviously a lot more exciting for you, being a supporter. The Arsenal game was hilarious because they lost but the amount of quality football on show is lacking. Teams are petrified of losing, rather than going all out to win. The entertainment is there in tension but the quality of football is dissapointing

On their day, Utd remain the 2nd best team to watch behind Arsenal. Liverpool have gone from being one of the dullest Premiership teams (Under Houlier) to one of the more attacking sides. They still lack a few quality players though to challenge for the title.

Highest number of shots in the Prem this season.
14th highest shot conversion rate in the Prem this season.

Tells its own story. The rest of the squad is as good as any in the country, if not the world.

Yeah i don't think any of the forwards are good enough which makes it surprising that Fowler hasn't played more even though he's a shadow of his former self.
