Were re-issues remastered properly?

hmmm, if we continue that way, they have to re-remaster their albums to come to the ultimate result ;-)
i cant compare every album/FL-album. from the early ones i only have FL, that replaced my vinyl or even cassette-versions.

Another example for a bit "false" remastering: survivors on biligual, where they left the surplus "race" untouched, although even neil once said it is a mistake. the line: "as a race (race) to be run". on the first sight it looks like an echo-effect, but the sound and the timing of the second "race" make it clear, it is just a misplaced audio-part.

That "Race" bit is simply Neil singing it in different places during the two different tracks of vocals he recorded of the lead vocal - most of Neil's lead vocal lines are "double tracked" to give them extra clout. A mistake they decided to keep in, rather than an oversight in itself.
