Neil/Chris relationship

I was just watching ''Hits!'' interview on Erasure's ''Hits! The videos'' DVD bonus disc and there was a question ''Do you love each other''
Andy was such a sweetheart and said nicest things about Vince, that he'd kill anyone who'd try to hurt him and Vince was like 'awww'...

so, I wondered what are Neil and Chris like together when they're not working
are they close friends, do they love and care for each other (in a friend's way)
do they go to vacations, shop, call each other when they're away, keep secrets... you know, like real friends
or are they just partners in music business
afterall, they spent 20 years together

I think Chris makes it pretty clear toward the end of the A Life in Pop documentary that he and Neil are very good friends -- not just business/musical partners. In fact, it seems pretty clear that their partnership, as profitable as it has been (both artistically and financially), wouldn't have lasted this long if they weren't friends.

Also, they often -- not always, to be sure, but often -- take holidays and vacations together. It's almost as if being a Pet Shop Boy is like being in one of the world's most exclusive clubs, one with only two members.

I bet in the beginning neil probably was attracted to chris....or lesser,chris to neil.

we'll probably never know the full story but I think its safe to say its only natural that at the start someone was into the other regardless if it was acted on, which I doubt.

After more than 20 years together, you'd think one would have to be good friends to *still* be together no?!

Once an interviewer asked Neil if he was attracted to Chris when they met. Neil said he didn´t want to answer that. When asked why, Neil said that he´d might surprise Chris when answering.

One of my old lecturers, Peter Stewart, was a colleague of Neil's at Smash Hits. He says that very early on, ie when Neil first brought Chris to the office, it was clear that Neil fancied Chris. Peter says all the other gay guys, including Peter himself, used to flirt with Chris to piss Neil off!

I honestly do not care how their relationship has been. Always there is someone trying to make them into lovers. Lets just enjoy the music, no point in trying to figure if they were ever attracted to each other.

mmm... I wasn't following all the Tabloids. But I thought they were partners (in business and private) and were gonna get married soon.
I also thought some of the lyrics were about their romantic relationship. But maybe these are just my imagination.

I wasn't implying they might be lovers or anything like that, they probably never were
I was wondering if they're real pals in private life too
since I haven't watched ''A life in pop'', I don't know what they say/think about each other
maybe I'd change my mind if I watch it
