Pet Hate's

#1 Post by Actually »

Everyone has a "Pet" hate. Even Neil himself admits he hates the full stop at the end of the title "Behaviour" on the album sleeve.
So the question is what's yours ? What irritates you in the wonderful world of the Pet Shop Boys ?

Mine, silly i know, is the fact that on PopArt "Jealousy" is followed by "DJ Culture", the same order as Discography - The Complete Singles Collection. I mean PopArt is unique in the way it was concieved, seperated from Pop & Art and to make it "not Discography with a second disc". Like i said silly, but it's still the ONLY Pet hate i have....until i think of another one.
I'm too weak to be strong

- The sound of the atom splitting
- Hit music of the album 'Actually'
- the fact that they never released the 'Stent Mix' of Go West
- all the bloody recording errors on PopArt

The Patsy Kensit single passing itself off as an Eith Wonder record
London video
I Just Want To Stay Here (Dusty)

I'll add more if I think of any....

That "How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously? (7-inch version)" is STILL unreleased on cd, despite chances to include it on Discography, Behaviour Further Listening and PopArt.

That "For Your Own Good" wasn't a single.

That PSB promote their new material very intense in some key markets; preferring saturation over promotion in the rest of Europe.

Hmmm... can't think of many as I've only been a fan for a few months, but:

- the Nightlife make-up and sunglasses
- single version (the most well-known version) of "Always on my mind" not being included on Further listening
- some weak work, such as Disco 2

I agree. I've been guilty of that, but only the very obvious ones...

2. Integral at all.
3. Careless compilation of the Further Listening series:
-mistake in Don Juan Disco Mix
-Different Original Dance Mix of Opportunities - why?
-meagre - Where are ALL the promo and vinyl mixes?
4. Album Version of Heart on PopArt, which is a compilation of 7" a-sides

What's the mistake in Don Juan (Disco Mix) then? Please.
