Do You Want A New Bitch (Misheard Lyrics - Merged Threads)

#1 Post by fabpet »

Now that I got you attention... (enough of Integral btw)

For all these years I could never understand what was said at the very end of Somewhere... I've always heard:

"I feel pussy .. .Oh pussy"

... LOL... And I knew it was not possible!! LOL...

But everytime I heard the song I was at the gym, in the car...and never remembered to look it up after... anyway, today it started playing while I was at my desk at work (in my iPod) and I finally looked it up:

"I feel pretty, oh so pretty" LOL!!

I'm sure there has been other posts about it but I'm gonna ask anyway:

Any other funny misheard lyrics from you guys??

PS- Obviously, English is not my mother language ;)

Mustn't forget

"Betsy's not your girlfriend"

And

"I didn't want to compete or play out on the street
for in a secret life I was a randy general"

And you say you never believed in luck

LOL!! Very funny!!

So I'm not the only one troubled by this line from So Hard:

SO HARD
[If you give up your affairs forever...]
If you give up, you're a fez forever.

I always hear - If you give up your ass forever...

I've always wondered what the female operatic vocalist is singing at the beginning of "Left To My Own Devices". It sounds to me like "ass.... ass....", but that can't be right can it ? - anyone know ?

Docoboy... it's "house", as in house music...

I know someone else who thought they heard Neil say the EXACT same thing the first time we heard Somewhere (on the way home from buying it at the store)! I nearly drove off the road, I thought it was so funny!

I have to think about it, but for the life of me when I was in high school I couldn't make out some of the lines of "Only the Wind," I think the line "someone's dustpan lid playing havoc with the peace." I forget what I once thought it was....

What was up with Robbie Williams switiching the pronouns on the Concrete version of Jealousy? Or am I mistaken? It kind of changed the meaning of the song...

Off topic but my wife and I were driving and Saint Etienne's "Amateur" came on the mp3 player, and she was like, what is this "I'm a Jew" song?

Just thought some of you SE fans might think that's funny.

Also Off Topic, one of my favourite Lennon songs is 'I'm So Tired' but I often heard the line:

'and curse Sir Walter Raleigh, he was such a stupid git'

as

'and curse the walls around me, I was such a stupid git'
Firing verbal shots.......like a Tommy Gun

Well, I've never misheard any PSB songs so far, but I id think the "want you back... want you back... " bit of Take That's Back For Good was "watch your back... watch your back... "

HAHA but not as bad as the discussion over 'don't pull the chill chain / tube train' :D

And yes Robbie Williams fluffed his lines during the Concrete performance...I don't think he changed it on purpose

I managed to get Being Boring wrong after many years....

'my shoes were high and I had scored'....(haha I first thought it was footballers in platforms :? )  its actually 'scorned'

Don Juan is probably the hardest to get right word for word due to the historical references...even Neil made some errors in the song

No, it is "scored". It says so on the official site. Scored as in "getting off" with someone.

I'm guilty of a Pet Shop Boys one - Suburbia "To blame the colour tv" I thought it was "To pay the colour tv"!!

Not a Pet Shop Boys one but, you know Tori Amos - "Gotta be big"? Someone we used to work with thought she was saying "Scabby B*@ch!!!"
