I never tell any of my friends that I like PSB.

When I first became a fan, around the time of 'Actually', I was very 'out' about my like of PSB. Then I remember So hard being released and a boy in my class laughing at me because I liked PSB and they were "crap" and "gay". A short while after that I decarled that I didn't like them any more... and ever since then they have been a massive secret of mine! I even hide my PSB CD collection in a special cupboard, stored chronologically!

The irony is that it's my gay friends who laugh at PSB now and say how crap they are. I sit there as the hetro closet PSB fan and keep very quiet!

Could become the release of Integral.

until now it is the fact that so many are just refering to them as the group having released Go West.

I think that's a real shame. If you can't be true to yourself then it's a pretty sad state of affairs.

I'm a married, hetro man and went to the 1st Hammersmith gig recently with a mate of mine (a bloke). One of my other mates could not believe I was going to a PSB gig with another bloke. Basically, he wouldn't go with another bloke because of what people might think, sad eh? He's a good friend of mine but this viewpoint really annoys me.

Most of the time I think blokes do this because they feel they have to continually prove their level of masculinity. I'm very comfortable with mine.

no. I'm really proud.

West End Girls is more popular in UK and USA, but Go West is more known all over the world.... my personal opinion.

I'm always very proud to say I love PSB. Damn what anyone else thinks, my opinion is just as valid as their's.

Anyway, my most embarassing PSB moment was being told by Dainton, backstage at TFI Friday, that the boys were splitting up and that's why Neil had done a TV interview by himself that day. I later ran up to Neil asking if it was true they had split.
Dainton found the whole thing hilarious.
Neil asked me why I thought they had split and I didn't want to dob Dainton in so I made up some pathetic excuse about getting that impression from the lyrics of To Step Aside.

My best PSB moment was throwing massive underpants at Neil when he was on stage in the Astoria. They skidded across the stage and landed right at his feet, where they stayed for the rest of the gig. Chris found it particularly funny, Neil was not amused.

You should've dobbed Dainton, Mary! Whatevah dobbed means. Think of the comic drama you could've started!

Just a funny note about people who get strange about liking PSB: my brother-in-law, who has excellent taste in music btw, is quite masculine and tough: well he's a huge fan of WLIR on Long Island. This radio station is quite famous in the NYC area, been around for 20 years playing tons of "alternative": meaning alternative to the dismal, dismal scene of US corporate radio. WLIR has always played the newest stuff from the UK and Europe, a sophisticated taste in the rock they play etc.. LIR is deservedly well known to anyone growing up within 200 miles of New York. If you liked Depeche, Morissey, PSB growing up, it's your station.

Anyway he works for the LIRR,(railroad) and one of the rough mugs working for him accused him of liking "Boy George music"- because he listened to LIR!! To some Neanderthals over here, unless you're into redneck rock, ALL foreign/electronic/non-swaggering music is "gay!"

I was agog. Hope this makes nongay people feel better about being PSB fans- to some creatures out there, Depeche/Oasis/Robbie are just as suspect! Lol.

(And for the record, happy to say I had a great July 4th bbq with my siblings, friends and kids and we all had fun, "Se A Vida E" was a huge hit at the party- many many of my straight friends and family think PSB write damned good songs.

I'm not bothered who knows I like PSB, but after I'd told my boss that I was going to the recent Manchester gig, she somehow got it into her head that I was off to see Simply Red, and went around telling people. Now that was embarrassing!

I had the builders in once & when one asked to use the toilet he went into the bedroom by mistake & there it was, posters, CD shelf you know the lot.

I found myself explaining, yes I have a girlfriend...and in the end you just make it worse. Just after that my male friend came round to return my cat

and yes I still have a girlfriend & a cat same one (for both)

My mum first told me they where 'camp' in the late 80's to put me off (it did'nt) There's alot of other types of people I dislike more
