so Psychological, Discoteca, Sound of The Atom splitting, Love is a Catastrophe and others aren't lyrically dark :?
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Yes, but some comments need elaborating. Statements like "PSBs lyrical content is not dark" alone is not that helpful without something to support it. As was your "Depeche Mode are not a synth band" remark (or whatever it was).

Nightlife. Not merely because of album's themes and words "night" and "vampire" in lyrics/titles, but also because it always reminds me the subway, place that brings to me very "dark" sentiments (and that I won't go in but I have to every day). Such a personal sensation, based on mix of the orange neons and lovely fatigued sound.
Fundamental as second.
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

I am not counting PSBs, that is more of an acronym. Unless you want to count PSBs as a word.

In what way do I need to elaborate on the fact that non of PSBs records are dark? What part of that do you not understand? Depeche Mode is a synth band that grew into so much more than that. But this topic is not about DM. Ok so if you all want to say that some of PSBs sad song lyrics constitutes being called dark songs, then they are dark. Then I guess Erasure's Storm in a teacup is a dark song then. For those familiar with that track. Its not really a happy song so then it can be construed as dark by the examples you are all saying here about PSB. :)

The track "I made my excuses and left" is a dark song then, by your standards because its about a relationship being broken.

I only brought up Erasure into this topic because they are another band that I feel do not have any dark records.

Just listen to the latest Smashing Pumpkins cd and you will hear what a dark record really is.

You're right, but in that case I will count PSB as three words  , which makes a total of 8!

Guess it's just a difference of opinion about what constitutes dark.
