The Girls Aloud covers of Hanging On The Telephone or I'll Stand by You, for instance, are virtually carbon copies of the originals. Both songs were famous.

PS musically apart from the intro and Neil's "where the air is free" additional the X Factor arrangement owes much more to the original version than PSB's.

Why the f*ck do people watch this programme? If you want to see karaoke go down the pub. It really depresses me that this passes for pop culture these days, and yes I include the boring Whitney clone at number one and even Girls Aloud who get an enormous amount of good press considering that they are dull and only have a handful of good songs.

Hmm, wasn't great was it? Thankfully the arrangement was more Village People than PSB. However I'm sure this will simply add to the notion of many that this is what PSB are all about.

Actually I must admit that was my first pop idol type purchase,the backing track is fantastic. I think she's more a Toni Braxton Clone than Whitney though.

It's rather depressing to see that due to said show's Michael Jackson special last Saturday night there are no less than 15 Jacko compositions in the top 200 midweeks, including some that weren't even performed.

Never even making the top 20 first time around, Man In The Mirror has even broken the top 40, and Billie Jean's in twice thanks to a dubiously 'rawk' cover by Chris 'Casino Royale' Cornell.

Just how impressionable is our good pal Joe Pubic?

PS Girls Aloud are at No.1, having sold twice the amount of Pink's No.2 this week.
