Hospital next week ** I'm back!!! **

#1 Post by StevePSB »

Thought I'd mention, for those who are interested, I have to go into hospital next week for an operation.

Short story - my left leg has a good degree of metal where there once was bone, including the knee joint. The plastic bushes in my left knee joint are worn out and need replacing.

I'm a bit fed up thinking about it, and more fed up that it is something I have to put up with every 5 to 6 years. Including the original set of bushes that were in the joint when they put it in, this is now my third set. How I look forward to (bigger than I'd like) operations, pain and more disfigurement. :( Still, I have been in gradually worsening pain on an almost constant basis since last Autumn, so a few weeks of pain and inconvenience then back to normal seems quite nice in comparison. :)

Anyway, I have to go in on Monday. Operation Tuesday and hopefully home again on Wednesday, but I doubt I'll have internet access from Sunday night until Wednesday or Thursday, so in the case of something important cropping up in that time, please contact Dave or Steffen.

Good luck from down under.

Hmmm. In the last few years they have made some big advances with materials.
You may want to look into seeing if there is some space age plastic/carbon/polymer/fibre
that last much longer.

Only a larf ... No harm done ....

Steve ... I hope glennridge made you chuckle with this post. I sure did. But not because I want to make light of your situation. Far from it. But because I know -- and I know that you know, too - that laughter is a marvelous healing force.
You have all our prayers & love.

C ya soon .....
