The opening ceremony for the London Olympics will be a crock of shit. We are crap at organizing shows like that. Unless it is a military display, in which case no-one can touch us.Pet Shop Girl wrote:I don't get much impressed with the summer olympics, that flying torch bearer was rediculous. I know that the opening ceremony in London has to be way better than this one.

Very true. I don't know what some people are watching at times. The Beijing opening ceremony was fantastic.Fugitive1979 wrote:The opening ceremony for the London Olympics will be a crock of shit. Oh come on you should have more confidence in your own country. I personally think it would be fab, I mean there is four years to work on the show and get their act together.

The opening ceremony was breathtaking and I can't imagine what we're going to do to top that. Perhaps get Chas 'n' Dave to write the official song and light the torch.
So far been enjoying the swimming, just saw the USA destroy the competition in one of the relay events; they were so far ahead, it was ridiculous. I can't imagine Phelps not getting those 8 gold medals on this form.
The tennis has been great as well and I'm hoping for a Federer vs. Djokovic/Nadal final. Less said about Murray the better, in a way it'll probably help his US Open chances.

Some one here in Oz has worked out,
that if India sent a team to the Olympics,
which was the same proportion of athletes to population,
that we send (450),
then India would be sending a team of 20,000 people.

Alan Wills has knocked out the defending mens archery champion Marco Galiazzo from Italy this afternoon.

A real shame the BBC were showing the matches from stadium A instead of B on their live stream, as it was an absolute corker of a match by all accounts.
