State Funeral for Thatcher?

#1 Post by Loins Of London »

Should she have one? Some Welsh residents may have an opinion:

Three young lads from the Rhondda saved Thatcher from drowning in the 1980s on a visit to a local sportscentre swimming baths.
She thanked them and asked them in turn what they would like as a thankyou gift.
The first kid said he'd like a bike. She immediately told her detective to order the newest BMX from Harrods.
The second lad said he'd like a computer. The detective ordered the latest ZX Spectrum from Harrods.
The third lad said he wanted a state funeral.
Thatcher was bemused and asked the lad why he wanted it?
The lad said "Cos when my dad finds out I helped to save you he's going to f***ing kill me!!!"

I wouldn't mind her having a Viking funeral down the Thames with Bernard Ingham in full Viking garb setting the ship alight.

She's still alive, though she must be well into her eighties by now.

Our government granted swindling b**tard and good friend of Thatcher, Charlie Haughey a state funeral. Easy known it was his party the was in power when he died. They went ahead with it even though the vast majority of Irish people were against it.
When our country was in the grips of povery, unemployment and mass emigration in the 80s, he lorded over us from the top of his thoroughbred horses on his massive mansion outside Dublin, telling the rest of the country to tighten our belts. Meanwhile he was taking brown envelope 'donations' from developers left, right and centre and making a joke of the major cities' planning laws, causing traffic and housing problems that we're still paying the price for.

That man was an absolute crook! I was delighted to see such a low turnout by the public for his funeral.

Edward Carson was granted a state funeral by the UK goverment and all he was was an Ulster Unionist leader. Maybe it was the way he told 'em
