Always on TOTP 1994.

Ahhh... there will never be a more beautiful pop song written.
Oh dear, I've just spotted Walliams, Lucas and myself in the TOTP audience for this.

Was this at the same time as your other TV appearance with the famous Mark Twitty and Walliams and Lucas, Walliams doing his blushing bride routine and you trying not to dance :shhh: .
They make a little go along way.. very Minimal but Fundamental.

Pissed off with the poor tracklisting. Definatly should have mixed the songs up. The deluxe edition will be ok because of the t.v and concert clips. However they aren't being released seperatly. No way am i shelling out for the first 20 hits because i have it and the 2nd 20 because i'll never bother with it.

I prefer chronologically listing the tracks over mixing it up. Whilst Pop2 isn't anywhere near the mark of the virtually flawless Pop1, there are still some good tracks on it. I just hope Always doesn't get butchered. They lost the plot from Freedom till the last single from the covers album. Breathe was, undoubtedly, a return to form and since then fairly solid stuff, aside from Sunday Girl; which I've always disliked.

Much prefer album version of RMG to the single remix, hope that's on the tracklist.
she's a little goer.

Been listening to the remixed promo cd and some of the tracks that will appear on the actually remixed cd.

Never been a great fan of any songs being remixed but there are some decent efforts of the promo.

01. Always (Manhattan Clique Remix)
02. Fingers And Thumbs (Cold Summers Day) (Sound Factory Remix)
03. Drama! (Andy Bell And JC Remix)
04. A Little Respect (Avantara Remix)
05. Fingers And Thumbs (Cold Summers Day) (Sound Factory Remix Edit)
06. Drama! (Dogmatix Dramatical Dub)
07. Sometimes (12" Mix)
08. Love To Hate You (Remixed By Paul Dakeyne)
09. A Little Respect (Extended Mix)

The first 4 are dreadful. The songs have been murdered but the next 5 are better. Extended versions are far more favourable though. The 2009 mix of Always thats promoting the album is nice enough but the casual listener wont know the difference. Love To Hate You (track 8) is the best out the lot.

Ship Of Fools is one of my fave Erasure tracks and heard the remix earlier but it's pretty woeful. Would have preferred an album of extended versions but there are a few decent moments.

I think the first 4 are great and the last 3 are just old remixes already released anyway.
The Manhattan Clique remix of Always is fantastic and A little Respect is pretty good too. In fact I can't pick out a mix I don't like which is a good sign I'd say.
At least Erasure have had remixes done which more or less keep the original vocals and don't sound like a different tune all together ie the Dave Spoon mix of Integral. I hope PSB will release some similar type remixes and forget the Ralphi Rosario and Dave Spoon garbage which was probably only done because of their name anyway.
It's a great package at a cheap price (£4.99 at most places) and well worth the investment for even the casual fan.
Personally I'd love PSB to release something like this but I wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon.

Goes to show how peoples tastes vary. I hate it when mixes mish mash the songs. A release of 12 inches would have been ideal. Is Always 2009 being released as a single?

Always 2009 will be a download only single I believe which means I certainly won't be getting it. I doubt it will chart anywhere at all to be honest but I personally don't care, I really like the Pop remixed album as it is full of more up to date extended remixes and not just your standard longer version. That's what I don't get in what you say, You can already get extended versions of almost all of their singles so what would have been the point of re-releasing them on a cd? Most of them have been released on the cd singles boxsets too so it would have been pretty meaningless to release them again I think. Would you be happy if the PSB did that? I think not. And I don't think they are mish mash remixes either, but everybody to their own.

Well you could say that about Pop 40. We have the first 20 already and we have the singles on the albums.

Oh i'd love it if PSB did a Greatest Hits of extended versions. I wouldn't be keen on a PSB remixed album though.

What would be the point of a PSB album of greatest hits extended versions, you could make that yourself from the cd singles, couldn't you?
Pop 40 is just an up to date singles collection and not too interesting to the hardcore fan base obviously, like all greatest hits releases, but Pop remixed gives the fans an up to date remix package which is very appealing to most fans, more than a greatest hits extended package of already released 12" mixes would be surely. What would be the point Unless you don't already have the singles that is? but the kind of people that don't have the mixes already are not exactly hardcore fans are they? Giving some PSB classics a modern day dance remix would be great promotion at the clubs too, I don't think too many would play It's a sin extended mix on a saturday night but a Xenomania remix could work!

Well you could but you can also do your own pop40 from the songs being on the albums. Just like the further listenings were fantastic, i feel a extended GH would be too. Just my own opinion, of course.

Which is exactly why I won't be buying Pop 40 and will be buying Pop remixed!!
The delux 3 CD-DVD version of Pop 40 I'll buy when it's cheaper!
