Take That: No Accounting For Bad Taste

#1 Post by Drico One »

Blandification triumphs again. Looks like all those Saturday night lowest common denominator TV appearances have paid off for what is essentially a group of washed-up go-go dancers with a neat line in anodyne inoffensiveness.

Drico.

From Digital Spy:

Take That's new album has become the third fastest selling LP in chart history.

The Circus sold 432,000 copies since Monday to debut at number one on the UK albums chart.

Only Oasis's 1997 disc Be Here Now and Coldplay's 2005 platter X&Y sold more in their first week of release.

Meanwhile, The Killers slip to two with Day & Age, while Britney Spears debuts at four with sixth album Circus.

X Factor duo Same Difference have to settle for a #22 debut with first album Pop.

The top ten albums in full:

1. (-) Take That: 'The Circus'
2. (1) The Killers: 'Day & Age'
3. (4) Leona Lewis: 'Spirit - The Deluxe Edition'
4. (-) Britney Spears: 'Circus'
5. (7) Kings of Leon: 'Only By The Night'
6. (3) Rhydian: 'Rhydian'
7. (6) Stereophonics: 'Decade In The Sun - Best Of'
8. (5) The Priests: 'The Priests'
9. (9) Girls Aloud: 'Out of Control'
10. (8) Pink: 'Funhouse'

I unironically prefered East 17. Mind you I was under ten at the time. They were still better though.

Hmm, Chinese Democracy has disappeared very quickly hasn't it?

Is anybody surprised? The morons are breeding. Come, come, come, nuclear bomb.

The likes of Rhydian would have provided a mildly diverting moment of contemplation at the freak show a hundred or so years ago:

"Oh look at the Peroxide Pop-Opera Singer of Indeterminate Sexuality, Maisie."

"Yes, what a curious specimen, Octavian."

Now he's a pop star. Ha ha ha etc.

The morons will buy anything that they've seen on X-Factor, M&S adverts or whatever else comes on ITV in that curious magic box in their living-rooms. Aren't there Take That and Girls Aloud 'specials' on before Christmas just in case any of them haven't got the message yet? Simon Cowell knows that his golden goose can defecate its karaoke pop faeces for perpetuity and he'll end up as rich as Croesus.

Rhydian was definately whoring his mediorce face and voice at some guest house not far from where I live. At first, judging from his picture I thought he was a fly by night spiritualist. Then someone pointed out he was from the X factor.

The morons and proles get the entertainment they deserve...it's just a shame that the only acceptable other alternative for the rest of us is the standby button.

And I hate the smug Wii adverts with the bland white actors displaying not an ounce of rapport...You're right, Mr Bateman, Nuclear War sometimes seems the more merciful and sexier option.

Have you heard the new Take That album Drico, or is your criticism based on guesswork?

1992.

A shocking remix named "What Is Love? (Reloaded)" was released by Haddaway in 2003.

Although we are in the wrong thread. We should be here: http://petshopboys-forum.com/viewtopic. ... 4638d176d6

I love TT new album!!! It's one of those album I don't have to listen to it more than once to like it completely. It was love at first sight.

Take That have become a British institution. Good luck to them. Rather have them over the Spice Girls and Boyzone...

Consider the source before swallowing it whole.
