Divine Album - can you recommend one?

#1 Post by Dave F. »

I've got one album by Divine: The Cream Of Divine, & to be honest, the quality is abysmal. It's like it's been recorded from a dancette with a microphone that's been placed in the room next door.

Can you recommend a compilation that's available in the UK that sounds half decent?

Thanks
Dave 'looking forward to Yes' F.

To be honest the cream of Divine does sound like a load of old t*ss! Sorry, couldn't resist it.

I have 'Maid in London' and it's not great sound quality either, but it's okish. I put it down to the age of the recordings and the crapness of the technology originally used.

You're correct 'Sandy', I didn't realize there was a separate Off Topic thread.
Please, do accept my sincerest apologies.

Is there a way for the Mods to transfer it?

Why would anyone actually admit to owning a Divine record?

That's a bit harsh. No-one rips off Blue Monday like Divine does

Kylie? She looks more like Peter Hook every time I see her.

I have a vinyl album called "The Story So Far" which is pretty darn good in a Bobby-O way. The quality seems OK to me too.

That's OK Dave. I have smuggled various topics into the PSB threads in my time so I should not throw stones! I think I have 'The Story So Far' BTW. Used to dance to Divine at the Sugarhouse disco in Lancaster in the early 80's.

Maid In England is the best Divine album, but unfortunatly there is no 'definitive' best of out there which has the Bobby O/SAW tracks on,also the 'Live' DVD is a must have for fans.
