As expected, the worst happens with my leg

#1 Post by StevePSB »

Back from hospital where they told me, as expected, that the infection is still in my knee meaning the worst case scenario now has to happen - they will have to completely remove my prosthesis (and it's big), replace it with an antibiotic spacer for 6 weeks (meaning 6 weeks on crutches and no knee) then they put it all back in again. If when they go to put it all back in again infection is still present then they have to start again and put another spacer in for another 6 weeks etc...

It's what I was expecting, but it doesn't stop me feeling totally f*cked off with life at the moment. I just wish I knew what I have done to deserve this... :(

That's dreadful, Steve. :(

Hopefully this sorts it out finally, though.

That sucks Steve. You'll just have to put the head down, get through it, and try not to think about it too much. A few new psb tracks could be just what you need to help you through...

Trouble is Parkol I've had more than enough experience of things going wrong to believe anything will be OK any more. It gets me down to say the least.

Forgot to mention - it'll probably be June now before I can return to work too.

I know you don't believe in God, but maybe one time you will go to the church, it doesn't matter which and ask God to help you... Just one time.
For example me, I don't really care which church I hаve to visit, I am Lutheran but I use to go to the orthodox churches, because i think that all those different catholic or something else is shit. God in your heart and probably you don't need to to go to the church, just sit and pray how you can or how you feel and sak God to help you. He really exists, it's easy to prove - you feel you are exist.

Sorry for my Englsih, I forget it day after day, more and more...

Steve, I will pray for you, of course.

this might be a stupid question but in your day to day life are you in constant pain? like nonstop continual pain? or is it only around the timeframe when your leg is worked on?

When it is 'right' I am usually in no pain at all, and it has been 'right' for the vast majority of these last 12 years. The very occasional ache, but nothing more.

Obviously operations and recovery from them hurts. This infection was originally so constantly painful it brought me to tears in A&E that first night back in December.

At the moment it hurts to stand up still (like queueing) for more than a couple of minutes and also hurts if I do too much in the way of walking.

Sorry to hear Steve.

My advice is don't go in for any unrealistic hope based on crystals, herbs, or religion.

If you can find "acceptance" it will help your immune system.

Did you see that BBC doco on the penguins. There are about 10 of 'em standing on
a large log shaped block of ice. And as ice does, it started to turn over. Of course
they all started to move in the opposite direction of the roll, with flapping of wings
and all. And of course the faster they ran, the faster the ice rolled, until of course
all in the drink.

If your not laughing, just go into a political thread and yell at us all again.
