There was a review of one of these (Run To The Sun I think) in Smash Hits (again, I think) which described it as sounding too much like the music from Sonic the Hedgehog. Remember when those games were a really big deal? Anyway, this sticks in my mind as being one of the more apt reviews I ever read. I really don't like the production on the ISIS album, disappointing that Martyn Ware was behind it really. Their self-titled album was thankfully a big improvement as far as I'm concerned.
1/10 for the second disc is a little harsh; I would really only give that to albums where I disliked every track.
Oh i always give things bad marks if i don't have the patience. I only give the PSB's Fundamentalism 1/10 as well, so it's not a biast view.
There are some potentially great songs on pop2 but it's the production and too many sound far too similar. The first dozen continually sounded like they were fast running out of idea's but there does seem to be a slight improvement with the Nightbird era.
Andy Bell has just been on Loose Women. It was quite a nice interview actually. He didn't say anything stupid and was quite down to earth. Didn't realise he was so camp though.

I never had you down as a Loose Women fan, Undertaker. Does Jermaine Jenas still co-present it?

Jenas is keeping ashley Cole company while Cheryl is away.
Nah, can't stand the program but the ladies like it. The t.v day starts for me at around 2pm on itv 4. The Professionals, The Saint, Sweeney etc. Great viewing
I've enjoyed catching the original Minder and Dempsey amd Makepiece, but I don't get much time. When I was off recently I watched 'School for Scoundrels' though. I love that film. 'Oh bad luck! New paintwork too...'
Oh right, Erasure. There was a Total Pop Advert on ITV 2 the other night. Not a leotard in sight.

Oh I love Minder too. It's basically the Thatcherite equivalent of an Ealing comedy. All bar staff should be like Dave.
WHICH CRACKHEAD THOUGHT REMAKING IT WITH SHANE F**KING RITCHIE WAS A GOOD IDEA?
Yes! Wouldn't it be ironic for a Vince Clarke song to go #1 in the same general time period that PSB release a single?
As for Total Pop, I don't think it will hit the top 40. Perhaps if they got a Brit and performed (spectacular performances from Erasure, as always), it may have gone top 10, but now, I think Erasure would be lucky to have this go top 40.
I'd be content with a top 40. The package is pretty amazing, including an 80-page full colour book. Leotard heaven indeed.
If Pop40 doesn't go top 20, Erasure may as well pack it all in. Being happy with a top 40 placing is a bail out. You only need to sell 6,000 copies at the moment for a top 30 placing. This needs to retain a chart place for at least a month to make any sort of profit. The less it sells, the cheaper the next album and no one will buy it.
I do think it will chart well. It's a new GH package and people buy them. I hope it does, so we can have a decent sounding album next year with a proper pruducer and writer. Not some ten bob bit, same old, same old.

Especially as they didn't even know it was being released
There was me thinking it was a Depeche Mode song. Some people need to stop grasping at those straws
Pop Remixed single and the Pop Remixed album failed to get into the top 150
Grasping at straws? Who cares if people didn't know it was being released? Like that matters in any way.
I'm not sure what was chartable and what wasn't concerning the Pop Remixed package, and I really don't care. I think in this day and age, you should really stop caring about chart stats, because you're going to end up very disappointed.
