Maybe the topic of Erasure should just be avoided on this board. I know, I know, "freedom of speach" and all that, but it's obvious they cannot be discussed maturely or rationally, so why not just quit while you're ahead and not talk about them here?

Naw. I'd say the majority of those is either standing up for my favourite band, or simply saying things just to get under your skin (and rather effectively, at that).

That statement I made about "Love, Etc" was in response to someone's panic about it not entering the top 20 - I stated it *would*.

And you still have posted incorrect stats on another forum - I believe it was sometime during OPS or Nightbird... can't be bothered to go on an Undertaker-like search and have no inclination to spend more time than is necessary getting under you skin. It would be a great victory if we could get this thread shut down. It's all really poorly worded and poorly thought-out rantings from Undertaker, in addition to horrible Undertaker artwork doctoring. Of course, I would do the same and try to divert from the musicality of things if I were comparing the two bands and I was in his shoes - he couldn't find a point if someone handed him a needle.

And Undertaker, here's some more egg for your egg-drenched face - this was a post from that same thread where I say "Love, Etc" will make the top 20 and everyone should stop worrying about it. You know, you really should learn how to read, as it would help you to not embarrass yourself to this gargantuan degree when you have to argue your paper-thin points.

No, "Love, Etc" wouldn't get airplay on Radio 1, but perhaps you should ask Skyhigh to restate his comments about the incredible (shedloads) amount of publicity PSB has been getting. Resultantly, this is working itself into a massive commercial disaster.

You know, you can't have your cake and eat it. It's enough to watch you fall into apologist mode. Once again, one person says something, then another discredits him accidentally by default of defence. Something doesn't sell, and distribution problems are to blame... or it's a sales-heavy week... or it was released with too much competition... or digital sales are now too high... or Satanic anti-PSB rabbits are keeping the hardcore fanbase from shopping... etc.

The bottom line is that a band with so much PR, marketing, the Brit fireworks, advertising, print/web articles, magazine covers, airplay (A-listed on the UK's biggest radio station) et al should (and will) crack the top 20. It doesn't make sense. I'd hate to be Undertaker right now, thinking this potential relative flop may result in Bob the Weatherman producing the next PSB album. Who cares where it will chart!? It's a good song and the album is better than any since the mid 90's. Chillax.

You guys are one big circus - a two-ring circus, at that. Instead of enjoying the band's new art, some of you are acting like stock traders running around the stock market like heads with their chickens cut off.

Depends on whether it is a statement of fact, or a dig. In their case, I suspect the latter.

I don't think there's a problem admitting that Neil is a technically limited vocalist. He's even said so himself several times and that he only became the PSB singer by default. He has improved over the years, though, and he knows his voice and capabilities well.

Besides, he's far from being the only pop star with average vocal abilities. Jarvis Cocker and - most famously - Bob Dylan, for example, aren't natural singers but it hasn't stopped them from being 'credible' and hugely respected within the music industry in the same way it hasn't stopped Neil.

Ultimately it's the end product that counts. Being a technically gifted vocalist means nothing if the songs aren't up to scratch.
