Talk of the PSB CD singles box set
Sender: Oliver 1 March 2004
Question 44:
Hello from Montreal! I would like to know if you plan to release one day, a complete boxset with every singles you released so far, with every mixes, white labels, b-sides, unrealsed tracks, live... a complete box set? Thanks
Answer:
We've talked about it often enough so it'll probably happen some day. N
Neil has answered this question twice recently, which makes me suspect that something may indeed be happening on that front.
EMI seem to be the label most keen on CD singles box sets, having done The Beatles, Marillion (!), Morrissey, and coming soon, Blondie........

What about Mute then, what with their zillions of Erasure and DM boxes???
Anyway, if we listen to Neil, we are made believe that there are loads of stuff in the pipeline. This year would see the release already of the Performance dvd, supposedly, and early next year the new album or whatever. Where is he gonna fit in the boxes???
I guess boxing the singles is cute, cos it'll look nice and shiny again, but it isn't on my priority list. Imagine: some 4 boxes with 5 or 6 cds each, at least. Only the first box would be truly interesting as it would include the West End girls, Opportunities, Love comes quickly, etc. singles on cd! Still, I'd have to buy all boxes anyway, wouldn't I?

Don't forget Duran Duran. Personally I see no point in this, because so much of the stuff from singles was already recycled on the album reissues. And of course the b-sides up until 1994 were already released on Alternative.LittleBummerBoy wrote:EMI seem to be the label most keen on CD singles box sets, having done The Beatles, Marillion (!), Morrissey, and coming soon, Blondie........

Slap & Tickle
I have waited to see singles box sets for sooooo long. If they really do come out it would be fantastic.
The only trouble is they never seem to give us what we want in terms of re-releases. I was disappionted by the album reissues and PopArt has been a bit of a mess.
Would we get the all the remixes on CD as with the Erasure box sets? Would they include promo or unreleased mixes? Probably not knowing them.

What they should do is get a fan involved. I'm sure they know some of them personally. Fans often know more about remixes, live recordings and unreleased material then the artists themselves. It was done with the re-issues of Level 42 big disapointment was that Mark King had the final say.
Oh well we did get some unreleased stuff anyway.

I'd love to see all the unreleased mixes such as the other two DJ International mixes of It's alright, I want a dog K.Saunderson, some of the To Step Aside mixes, You only tell me you love me when you're drunk Hitmakers - it would also be great to see all the second 12" mixes on CD, all in little replica sleeves. I was really disappointed with some of the tracklistings for the Depeche Mode singles box sets - the Dream On cd just contains those mixes widely available, leaving out the Brat and Pink Noise mixes - not putting unreleased stuff on seems a bit of a missed marketing opportunity. taking suggestions from fans would be the best way of getting a comprehensive release done, including TMBTP 9 minute mix
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

Imagine Dub for Money Opportunies and Shep's Dub of Heart on CD!!!
1 cd for each single. the inlay could could contain a comprehensive write up and discography for that release (there you go gardner

There was a 9 minute mix of this must be the place on a Japanese mini disc released with Behaviour that I have...joeythecat wrote:But we already know from Neil that there is no 9 minute mix.
I would prefer a box set of live DVD's rather than CD singles as the full 1989 tour and the release tour could be on there
It's gonna be alright.
Thank You, Goodnight
Check out remixes 251 & 254 on U-Myx

Since weirdalfan1980 has been notably absent too, I suspect they are having a secret love-in by some pool somewhere in Greece. Let's just hope they'll come back here and don't decide to relocate for good to the Fear Factory forum.Janet Street-Porter wrote: btw, has Zeus been banned or is he on holiday?
