All Kinds of Waffle For Insensitive Souls (Split)
[MODERATOR: These posts have been split from the Yes Billboard Chart Thread on the main forum]
I do it aswell, for which I apologise (I'm from Wales), it just saves an annoying half hour explenation of the difference between the UK, Great Britain, The British Isles and the Commonwealth.

They're all, at root, pretty much the same. Christianity's death toll of innocents is actually much higher than Islam's, although the latter is certainly doing its best in recent years to try and catch up.NJTom wrote:Danny, why doesn't your avatar read "Imagine no Islaam"? I think that would be slightly more accurate.
If he was a communist anti-Christian, he sure had a lot of harsh words for his friends and kind ones for his enemies:alig wrote:Hitler was a communist, too. He didn't call himself national socialist for nowt. He(like Mussolini) too was anti-corporatist, anti-christian and pro lunatic and pro fascist. Funny how socialists keep peddling the myth that Hitler was right-wing when in fact he was a commie.
The streets of our country are in turmoil. The universities are filled with students rebelling and rioting. Communists are seeking to destroy our country.
We are a people of different faiths, but we are one. Which faith conquers the other is not the question; rather, the question is whether Christianity stands or falls. … We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity … in fact our movement is Christian. We are filled with a desire for Catholics and Protestants to discover one another in the deep distress of our own people.
His view of liberals seems to jive with yours, Ali... perhaps you are related?I pledge that I never will tie myself to parties who want to destroy Christianity .. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit … We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press—in short, we want to burn out the poison of immorality which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of liberal excess during the past
Also, what's with all the threads going off-topic lately

If there was no Islam, then the Twin Towers would still be standing. It's a no-brainer.

Dave quoted someone who mentioned England in error, so it should have been corrected then. Now that's a can of worms to open on a pop message board. But let's just say I have a problem with that statement of yours, so that an outsider reading this board knows there are people of diverse opinions here, and move on.Fugitive1979 wrote:No need to pull out the racist card, because it's true.GalataPSB wrote:NJTom wrote:Danny, why doesn't your avatar read "Imagine no Islaam"? If Scots are so annoyed by this kind of perceived slight, why don't you just go away and declare independence like we did? As much as I like geographical precision, it's hard to expect people from half way around the world to always know the difference between what are, essentially, provinces of the United Kingdom. Indeed, most people outside of the UK do not refer to it as such, and many are referring to the collective when they use England. The English are the dominant culture in the UK and people around the world recognise that.

So far as I can see, nothing.NJTom wrote:What did I say that was racist btw?
Some people have difficulty discerning between an opinion that you freely hold of your own choice, and a race that you are born into that is immutable. "Muslim" is no more a race than "Pet Shop Boys fan" is.

So, basically, you are saying that if us Scots don't like the ignorance of people who can't tell the difference between England and the UK, then we can sod off?Drico One wrote:Only if he has a chip on his shoulder (and I don't believe he does). But I digress...

No, Drico, it is plain pig-ignorance.Drico One wrote:As much as I like geographical precision, it's hard to expect people from half way around the world to always know the difference between what are, essentially, provinces of the United Kingdom. What is the problem? What is there to disagree with? Are you denying that Muslims felled the Twin Towers? Who else would do it? That is the only logical explanation I can think of for you having a problem with that statement.DominoDancing wrote:Now that's a can of worms to open on a pop message board. No, I'm wondering why if you feel so strongly about your national identity why you don't declare independence. That would make it a lot easier for the ignorant to differentiate.Fugitive1979 wrote:So, basically, you are saying that if us Scots don't like the ignorance of people who can't tell the difference between England and the UK, then we can sod off?Drico One wrote:Only if he has a chip on his shoulder (and I don't believe he does). Sorry, Fugitive, but Scotland isn't a separate country and your culture is not the dominant one in the United Kingdom. While it may be ignorant for people in this part of the world to fail to differentiate between Scotland and England or to understand that England isn't the UK, or to fail to recognise the significance of Scottish culture in the UK, many people around the world see Scotland in the same light as they see Bavaria or Brandenburg or Galicia (i.e., they really don't see it at all in the context of the dominant culture or political entity).Fugitive1979 wrote:No, Drico, it is plain pig-ignorance.

Re: Yes enters Billboard at # 32!
What has who created Al-Quaida got to do with it? Regardless of who created Al-Quaida, it is still full of Muslim fundamentalists, who brought down the Twin Towers because they hate the United States. No other major religion or organization openly hates the United States, therefore, the Twin Towers would still be standing today. The fact that the United States may have had a hand in creating Al-Quaida is totally by-the-by.GalataPSB wrote:I cant see any line in Quran about Terror.I think you shıld find the answer of this question :" Who created Al-Queda?
The IRA was financed heavily by Irish interests in the United States, yet you won't find many, if any, people who blame the United States for atrocities commited by the IRA.
Yes, that's 'United States', not 'America'. Same as it's 'UK', not 'England'.

And The Netherlands instead of Holland. Strange how Trainspotting neglected the difference.
