Truly, thanks for getting me to think about it and accept it.

Vince, just get rich as quick as you can. That way you'll have your choice of women, and can pretty much do what you like.

Re: Love Life
But then Patrick, wont i be living my life with a hypocrite?
EDIT: its an interesting thought though Mr.Bateman. How can we look at our partners and think "if i had 50000 quid less in my bank account, would he/she still stand by me?"

Re: Love Life
Well the majority of women will always consider income as the prime requirement in a partner. They may dress it up and say they were attracted by his looks/sense of humour/intelligence/big c***, but ultimately they wouldn't be with him without his money. Somebody your age should realise that now, and not delude yourself into thinking that wandering around writing poetry about a girl you're into will melt her heart. It won't; she'll smile sweetly, and eye up your business graduate friend.
Romance? You don't see many supermodels with handsome vagrants, do you? (now that Kate and Pete are no more)

Oh glenn, just wait till you've exhausted your economic usefulness. You can't strip forever.glennjridge wrote:jeeeezus! stop indoctrinating vinces mind with your jaded dating ideology.

Re: Love Life
Vince, from what I can read here it seems obvious that you are stuck in the friend zone with this girl, and like Glenn said, once you're there it's almost impossible to get out. Probably your only real shot is to start paying a lot less attention to her and demonstrate that other women find you interesting. Which I can see is probably what you're doing so that's good.
May I recommend that you read Neil Strauss' book "The Game". While you may not want to actually become a 'Pick up artist', the book will teach you a lot of things about how to make women interested in you - and how to avoid "Let's just be friends" in the future. It will be worth the effort.

It was a cough that carried him off. It was a coffin they carried him off in.

Depends what kind of woman you're after. If you want some shallow cow who looks good, then yes, your wallet is the most important thing.Patrick Bateman wrote:Well the majority of women will always consider income as the prime requirement in a partner. If you're chasing looks, then you're just as shallow as women who chase wallets.

Looks, sense of humour and intelligence are exactly the reasons I'm with my husband. I'll earn my own money, thank you very much.Patrick Bateman wrote:Well the majority of women will always consider income as the prime requirement in a partner. I had a guy after me before who was a multi-millionaire. I never would have had a money worry for the rest of my life. Except I didn't find him attractive. Nothing wrong with him, just not my cup of tea. He's still single, so obviously there are plenty of women out there who don't chase money.
Joemoz is right about the friend trap mind you. Almost impossible to change that.

Re: Love Life
I've watched relationships over the years and it does appear to me that what is looked for in a relationship is initially a kind of package deal. And while no woman would ever believe it, she does IMHO look for certain factors and then when she gets them in the right way, decides to be in love, "#You don't fall in love by chance, you choose!".
My parents had an arguement spell and they seemed to resolve it by planning and redesigning the upstairs rooms together and creating a new dream. Plus it isn't as easy to survive on your own.
I think men can do the same thing, they meet a girl, get the zap and if they're not careful will end up as her puppy. However, it isn't all this shallow - being mysterious and not so ready to jump gives you an edge - not so much mean, just a bit more your own boss.
When there is attraction between a woman and her man the craziest things can happen. There is no rule either. What one woman would find funny, another would find childish. Then it can depend on the current mood and the spontaneousness of it all. Surprise element. Thought and surprise is more powerful than the gift.
I dislike all the fakery. I just want someone I can be me with.
