Jesus. Then again, is there anyone in our team that hasn't been in court or done something shameful?

Not really, Barry is probably the highest profile one who has kept his nose clean.
The other likely candidates: Gerrard was in court for hitting that DJ (albeit cleared of all charges) and got done for drink driving in his teens; Rooney shags grannies and is a loose cannon on the pitch who can't be trusted not to get himself sent off; Lampard was involved in that video in Ayia Napa years back with Kieron Dyer and Rio Cokehead (again) and has also copped a bit of flak for the recent split from his missus, although he too like SG seems to have grown up a bit.

Don't leave out Cole and Defoe. Both like to speed about in cars.

I'd give it to Rooney. He has matured and is the team's best player so can lead by example. England's problem was that they had the perfect ambassador in Beckham and therefore going straight from him to Yobbo Terry was always going to end in tears. Lots more revelations to come on Sunday too.

There will be slander to be found in every England candidate for captain in today's ultra ego modern players.
Best keeping it as it is.
I don't give to humphs shit who cheating on who as long as it gets us far in the competition, Changing it to ferdinand with only months to go, is not a good call.
With the form Rooney in, I can understand the call of giving it to him, but what if he lost his head, the team would then fall apart.

Good on Wayne Bridge. Okay he's not the greatest player but I think he's quite right to do the honourable thing. How could he have possibly played alongside Terry?

Good on Wayne Bridge?? He's done nothing wrong. If JT was half the man he tells people he is he'd be the one withdrawing. Heaven forbid that happen though, eh??
That's it, it's all over. We're out of here. What a Legacy! (c) Chris Lowe 2009

Terry's been playing crap the last few games anyway. Let's hope he continues that form until the summer.
Chelsea-City on Saturday too.

Quality from Bridge on Saturday. The refusal to shake hands was a class moment. John Terry has turned into a Championship player.Patrick Bateman wrote:Terry's been playing crap the last few games anyway. Let's hope he continues that form until the summer.

A rather sad story. Keith Alexander was a Grimsby Town legend

Very sad news indeed. My dad lives in Ilkeston and we used to occasionally go and watch Ilkeston Town play while he was manager there. Top bloke and always very approachable.
Passion, love, sex, money, violence, religion, injustice and death. More on that story later.

We are star stuff which has taken its destiny into its own hands. The loom of time and space works the most astonishing transformations of matter. We are a way for the universe to know itself.

I'm going to get to meet Eric "The King" Cantona in about 3 weeks which is going to be amazing!
I've already met his brother Jean-Marie and should be meeting Joel Wednesday night hopefully when I go to watch Man Utd v Milan at the new "Temple of Foot" indoor football centre they are opening near Nantes, not far from where I live.
Obviously being one of the few Englishman living in the area and a Man Utd nut since from when I can remember they have been very welcoming to me at the centre and I am hoping to get a job there, although there are no guarantee's in that, but I'm working on it! They've asked me to give them a CV which is always a good sign!
I spent Friday night talking about all things football with Jean-Marie Cantona, including that famous night at Selhurst Park in 1995 which was funny, it was so interesting hearing from him that since he watched his first game at Old Trafford he has been absolutely hooked on Man Utd and English football and shows a lot less interest in the French game. I asked him who his favourite team was and expected him to say Marseille or something like that but he just said back to me firmly "Manchester United, No competition!!"
I'll report back here after the 28th on how it went but it will be so strange to get the chance to speak to the man himself and in French! Life is strange sometimes, but also full of nice surprises! I am seriously over the moon about this! Who knows he may even play in a game that day, but most probably not!

Brilliant night for United as well as Lyon tonight in the champions league and I had the pleasure to watch the highlights (The Lyon game was live of course!) of the United game with Joel Cantona, the brother of Eric and it was fantastic speaking about all things football with him as well as about Eric of course!
I's been an amazing few weeks for me with this new football centre opening near where I live and to see United play the way they did tonight against Milan just made it even better to be honest!
Rooney is having an amazing year and I wouldn't put anything past him the way he is playing at the moment, absolutely outstanding!
Let's hope he continues his form into the world cup, well, if your English that is!!!
