Does anyone remember Roobarb and Custard.

I also remember playing with my Girl's World.

I had lots of starwars figures and models and like any normal kid I blew them up with M80 and cherry bomb fireworks.

toys today are so awesome for kids, I remember they were even really good for my generation but my parents generation got the shaft yo. from what I can remember all they had to keep themselves occupied was was a slinky and that stupid ball you shook with that blue liquid in it that would tell you your future.

I remember having the boardgame 'The Grape Escape'..
Mousetrap and Buckaroo too. And Pop-up Pirate!

We had a huge box of Lego handed down from generations before! My dad played with it in the 70's! There was so much of it..we'd tip it all out on the living room floor and spend hours building stuff! My mum didnt like it she was always saying tidy it up..but it'd end up being there for over a week lol.
and I had Stickle-bricks but they didnt get as much use..

Yeah, i remember Roobarb and Custard.. I used to love watching Rainbow, Once upon a time, Button Moon, Wackaday , Runaround, Razamatazz, The Hardy Boys, oh dear i really am showing my age! Does anyone remember those?

I never had a Girl's World i was a bit of a tomboy. Had a couple of dolls but i used to play with cars, marbles and jacks more than anything. Used to love going down in the cellar to play lol.. Oh and i loved Connect Four.

Speaking of dolls: I didn't like 'normal' ones, I never felt being a 'mo-
ther' pushing them in a pram around. What I liked for a certain time
were Barbie dolls.
I had several Barbie dolls plus a 'Ken' plus a bathroom and a car with
camping equipment and a horse.

I liked marbles, cars and I had tons of smurf figures, I made a space-
ship out of LEGO for my smurfs. The Barbie dolls were later.

I used to enjoy going up to my Grandma's attic where old toys from my dad's days used be stored up there, ones like...



Some really nice ones with caravan extras & horse and carriage, even the boxes that came in where a delight on the eye.

I think i ended up wrecking them all marks on them all over the place years later....was given them way to young methinks

Thinking about it now, i fell sorry for all my dads work keeping them all mint as a lad and then his Son to get them all years later to take them all to the junk yard

Than again he most likely been 5 years older than me when he first got his hands on them, I will after ask him at the weekend

I still have some of the classic Superman 50s comics like...




Again going back to my Grandma's attic i loved these issues, i will after dig them out of the old box there in sometime, and let my dad have a good look at them again, should bring a smile to his face

I didn't have any Barbies but I did have lot of Sindy dolls. I loved Sindy Ballerina.

I also remember watching Noel Edmonds Multicoloured Swap Shop on a Saturday and Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade on a Sunday (Not sure if Glen Michael only showed in Scotland).

I recall owning a personal tape player with headphones and it was about half the size of a box of cereal. It was huge. But it played my Actually tape so I was quite happy

I also had lots of Sindy dolls and accessories. I didn't like Barbie, thought she was a bit of a bimbo!!
Who remembers collecting the 'Hearts' on Sindy packaging to send away for stuff? I also had and still have a Sindy record called 'We're having a party' must be about 30 years old!!
Glad PSB came to the rescue 6 years later....

Button Moon was ace. Zavvi had a good dvd for sale last week. It was £2.99 for Jamie and the Magic Torch. Timeless classic

Other programs were Let's Pretend, Pidgeon Street, You and Me, Cockleshell Bay, Portland Bill, Sport Billy and Bananaman.

What was that crap that used to be on at about 10 a.m on a school holiday? Something about a group of kids that did different things liek camping etc. It was on after that knob head with the mallet.

Can't leave out Sesame Street.

There was also a program on at tea time. The story had English words but was a foreign program. I think the theme tune went something like ''In Denmark i am Johan, in England i am John. It had a few other places mentioned as well. Anyway, that was good as well. As was that program with T-Shirt and T-Bag.
