6 Music

#1 Post by Patrick Bateman »

I don't listen to it that much but it's surely criminal that the BBC are considering closing it down when one thinks of some of the crap on the network. Why does 1Xtra exist? Surely there's no need for it considering that Radio 1 plays most of the crap on there anyway. So let me get this right, if one isn't a complete retard (Radio 1), black or Westwood (1Xtra), an Alan Titchmarsh groupie (Radio 2) or prematurely old like Neil and I (Radio 3), there's no other music available on the network? Scandalous.

Heart's not bad..if it's club classics. Sometimes they play random old songs during the day too..but they also constantly play the same new songs: Alexandra Burke - Broken Heels, Journey - Dont Stop Believing, Cheryl Cole - Fight for this Love...etc.. friday and saturday nights are good because they play disco, alot of 70's. But sadly the same playlist every week.

I listen to radio 2 sometimes. And occasionally Radio Devon on wednesday at 6pm because it's the '80's show'. Apart from that it's mainly farmers talking about local issues, they dont actually play any music.

Back at home I quite like Sovereign and BBC Sussex and Surrey, they play alot of old stuff..

What station is Radio 3 (what number on the tuner thing) and what sort of stuff do they play?

Classical music. I can't concentrate if I'm working otherwise - no noisy babies next door, sing-a-long lyrics or annoying DJs.

The problem with commercial stations is that they may play the odd disco classic but it's mixed in with all the dross that they play on heavy rotation. That's why something like Bad Day by Daniel Powter can be the most-played song on British radio - it sounds like a jingle and to all intent and purposes it is.

Unfortunately not. There's always the likes of BBC Three and E4, and he's bound to end up on Radio 1 eventually. It's his spiritual home. SHABBA!!!!!
