Passes and crosses have been consistently over-hit and its bounce is too strong - almost like how it would react on astroturf. What's wrong with a normal ball that doesn't fly all over the place like a £1.99 beachball? Football is embraced by every nation in the world so it hardly needs selling with another FIFA gimmick.
It still hasn't dawned on FIFA that even if they use a windy popper, it still wont increase the amount of goals because you get crap like Slovenia and Algeria daring not to cross the half way line.

Howard Webb or that bald Norweigian idiot haven't been let loose yet.

lol. I was reading about them last week. The manager was saying he would need to be paid millions if we wanted more music. He thought (and still thinks) he was some sort of superstar and totally slagged off everyone else.

That sending-off was ridiculous. This Mexican has the crazy staring eyes of a psycho ref.

Stupid chalenge though. He already had one swing at him and made sure he took him out with his second tackle. no way a red but the players would have known what the referee was capable of. Cahill gave him the option. Brainless.

He's dishing out cards all over. Wise money would be on a penalty given and/or another red. It's refs like this that ruin it.

Terrible decision by the referee. Germany have played some beautiful stuff, though. They've got a great future - under 17, 19, and 21 European championship victories in recent years shows that they've got a fine new generation on the way. This tournament is too soon for them, but they'll be major contenders in Brazil and for the next few European Championships.

The Bundesliga must be the most competitive league in Europe too at the moment, and certainly the best for supporters who actually want some atmosphere at a decent price, i.e.: like it was in the 1980s.

Looking at Cahill's challenge again, it was terrible. A cowards tackle really. No attempt at all to play the ball. Still think red was a bit harsh but tackle like that and you are asking for trouble. You can see why he sent him off.

Yep, not like Peter Drury to spout hysterical nonsense...

Germany were very, very impressive, though, and played with great pace and precision. I'm looking forward to their game against Ghana now as I was quite impressed with them as well. Should be a tasty encounter.

I can't really, Dave. Yellow card at most - incompetent refereeing.

Yeah, the Bundesliga is great - a proper league with proper fans at proper prices played in proper stadia. It's also the best attended in the world and the most profitable - and they keep club ownership in the hands of the fans (unless the club is formed out of a company, e.g. Bayer Leverkusen, etc.).
