Re: Earth is Growing?
I won't become christian, but only recently I've noticed all the venom against religion is directed against the hypocricy. The ideals of religions are great, and speak more truth than sarcastic atheism, and in fact have a lot in common with science. We still know hardly anything, so rejecting the possibility of a presence is foolish. I dream of free-floating energy, George Carlin called his the Big Electron, the point is we don't know. We can only see a few inches on the ridiculously long light spectrum as it is, and its generally held we're nowhere near using the full potential of our brains. How can we smirk at religions when they're attempting to tap into unexplored mysticism? Being unable to get past the fundamentalists and symbology is a big failing of atheism.
And Drico's big failing is being unable to see past media creations. David Icke is an unstable genius. He believes in lizards, but what about this?

Is this the raving of a mad-hatter? Filter yourself instead of letting the corporate owned media do it for you, and you might find 70% of his lectures are spot on. And this isn't exactly some research symposium, sometimes when I come across something new and exciting that I haven't considered before I share it with people around me. Such as this video, I'd never considered a growing earth before and posted it immediately because I find it interesting. Is it true? I dunno, but I thought it would lead to more stimulating conversation than 'you're a conspiracy theorist, therefore I will not consider it.'

You could say that I'm an agent of the Bilderberg Group, a mason, or a 12-foot lizard, but like most things the truth is far more prosaic. I'm only messing (and I don't dislike you).
Carry on.

Re: Earth is Growing?
well conspiracy theorists are normally loons, but to naively believe that we are aware of everything that goes on amongst the worlds elite is almost as crazy

^ Well said. Its simply about keeping an open mind. I don't say I know the answers, but these views get ignored, so I try to redress the balance.
And if you can mock the Bilderberg Group, geez. Yeah, not worth thinking about, its only an annual top-secret meeting between the worlds elite and governmental figures. I'm sure they have our best interests at heart.
And I can never tell with you, but if you don't dislike me then I cannot dislike you. I am weak. I just wish you'd pay more attention to the message than the messenger.

Only Stephen Hawking knows everything. And Stephen Fry.

If you read more closely you'll see I wasn't mocking the Bilderberg Group at all... Sorry to have to spell it out, but I was mocking you. Affectionately, mind.whateverman42 wrote:And if you can mock the Bilderberg Group, geez. I think your intentions are good, but you sometimes confuse an open mind for an empty one. Most things have logical explanations. Everything doesn't invariably have to be a conspiracy.whateverman42 wrote:Its simply about keeping an open mind. Re: Earth is Growing?
Fair enough. But don't you think its worth talking about Bilderberg rather than focusing on my limitations? If you think there is a rogue elite influencing events to certain degrees, can't we agree on that? When I talk about PSB here, I find a lot of posters to be less than enlightening, but I respond with my favourite song or why they're one of the best bands, because their intentions are good and we do have things in common.
Re: Earth is Growing?
Drico, what is your opinion on the Bilderberg Group?

Re: Earth is Growing?
Oh, feel free to discuss Bilderberg. I'm not hugely interested in it because it's clear as mud that a wealthy elite has been running the show since the dawn of time. It's not remotely new information. I just find it humorous that some people think it is the latest conspiracy or something hugely scandalous.whateverman42 wrote:Fair enough. Listen, let me be clear: I'm sorry if I have offended you. You strike me as an earnest and likable kind of guy who can take a friendly ribbing. I hope there are no hard feelings.whateverman42 wrote:If you think there is a rogue elite influencing events to certain degrees, can't we agree on that? Re: Earth is Growing?
Did you see the tears and jubilation when Obama was elected? The fact that elites control the government is above the heads of most people, it is new information.
I clearly can't take a ribbing, or at least I'm a poor judge of character, but no ill will necessary.
