I agree with you.Errrm! What about England + France ? The African one is so much easier. Sorry! Respect to Africans!

S.Africa: 2 France : 1

Algeria : 0 England :0
Erm, what does that have to do with qualifying zones?

And England drew 0-0 with a pretty decent Algerian side which have almost all their players playing in France (and born there actually but that's another story), so please try to realise that and remember they qualified for the finals unlike your country. So maybe you should laugh at yourself first?

The Sex Pistols were right; the English national anthem is such a paean to subjugation, isn't it?

"send her victorious
happy and glorious
long to reign over us"

Very boring... Slovenia -England... No moments, no passion... It seems to me Slovenia doesn't want to win and England doesn't want to make more goals. They should understand that they can't play in play off like this. No one will forgive them.

It seems to me England bought that game... Slovenia losing 0-1 didn't attack and did no moments.
I don't see England in final, if they will be playing like this... really. How can they win Argentina or Spain with this football?

I'm glad Slovenia went out; apart from the goalie and Birsa they were pretty crap. Their striker made Heskey look like Messi for mobility. How the hell did they qualify?

Fantastic that the US went through as group winners; they really deserved it after two legitimate disallowed goals in successive games. England will probably have to beat Germany and Argentina to advance to the semi-finals now. Can't see it myself but it should stoke the tabloid press up a bit.

LMAO

Dunno where to start on two of the most comical comment's i've ever read on here. England showed no passion? Sorry but they showed plenty today. They also played very well. The only thing missing were more goals. It should have been 5 or 6. You are right on one thing though - England won't win it. They aren't good enough.

I thought Slovenia were probably the worst side i've seen at the competition. They only beat Algeria because of a poor mistake and they were playing 10 men.

Question for you, Parkol or anyone else than can answer ;- Slovenia are terrible but can anyone tell me how they qualified? Who did they beat to get there? :shifty:

England played well today but they will need to step it up a lot to get any further. I don't think they will concede many but for me, they don't load the penalty box with enough bodies. Two goals against three poor sides tells a story but it was still enough to get through.

I thought Milner was Englands best player. Most were much improved and Upson was solid to be fair. Glenn Johnson is the one i'd be worried about. He is a winger playing at full back.

Russia were better when they were the CCCP. Same with going into space.

England were okay but Slovenia had nothing upfront, and but for that block by Upson they could still have thrown it away. One can only imagine what the likes of Argentina or Brazil would do to Johnson. IMO they've thrown it away because of failing to beat Algeria or score more goals today; Germany will be tough, and Argentina even more so if they can get through that.

They should improve against better sides, probably not enough to beat either, though. Slovenia gave England too much space today. There are plenty of England players who panic in posession. They should have given them no space at all.

England might get away with Johnson because the better sides tend to play without wingers. Then again, he struggles to track runs as well. Milner should give him better protection.

Still think Lampard is the weak link. He did a bit better today because he was a bit more disciplined in where he was playing but then you lose what he's good at ;- getting into the box and scoring goals.

I wouldn't be surprised if Germany finish 2nd anyway and Mexico beat the Argies. Argentina remind me of Holland. Fantastic team but throw in a stupid performance and pay for it.

Didn't someone prove they weren't the first in space? I think all their other expeditions (if there has been any) were faked anyway.

The only thing i can ever remember CCCP doing at a World Cup was that Vasily Vats (sic) goal in 86.

Hopefully Germany will beat Ghana; I'm forced to cheer for my background countries. I would still consider it a victory over you lot if Germany beats England nevertheless.

Anyone think Canada has a shot to get into the next WC? All they ever need to do is beat everyone but Mexico and the US but they never can.

Last time i saw Canada play, they were terrible. So unless they have improved in the last 2 or 3 years, i cannot see them doing anything. Do Canada play in just one single group? Honduras were in the same group as the US and Mexico and they qualified.

At the moment, it could be that Germany go out. They are being given a right good game but the difference is the strikers. Ghana don't look like they can score, although Ghana should have had a pen and playing 10 men.
