A-ha tour

Just booked a ticket (yes, one, I'm going on my lonesome again!) for the Birmingham A-ha gig in November. Been thinking about it for ages and decided to act now before I found it sold out and I'd missed my chance to see them for the last time.

I went a few years ago and although the music was a little too stripped back for my liking they were very, very good. Can't wait to see them again, it's just a shame that this is the end.

Yep. they played the first two albums in full with an orchestra. It was absolutely wonderful!! The Royal Albert Hall was sold out as well

It was, but there were some tickets released at the last minute, so more became available. A great night!

And----- I have a ticket to their last ever gig in Norway too now! They released 120 more last week and after 30 mins on the phone to Norwat (ouch) I managed to get one!

Well, at least I will have it when it arrives!

Wow! That was pretty special! Much better than the last time I saw them. They have a permanent drummer and extra synth/keyboard/guitar player (who were both on the 'Foot of the moujntain' album) and they were both top notch. It really helps add some of the 'studio' feel to their live tracks. They really went for it on the stuff from 'Foot of the mountain' and were clearly enjoying themselves immensely. The crowd showed 25 years of appreciation at the end, and a-ha likewise to the fans. A great night!

What a huge shame that will be the last time I see them live though.

9/10. You've much to look forward to mole!

I really enjoyed the setlist and going with/seeing my friend from my past.
I didn't enjoy the 18hrs of travelling by coach though!

My friend had picked ground seats which was a mistake as everyone stood up. Luckly the girl next to him was much shorter and so I could see most of it. Side seats I think are better, but then you cannot so easily 'bop', for that, then it is better standing. The crowd were a bit pathetic really, however, Morten did get people motivated around Hunting High and Low... Felt a bit sorry for them. Great set list though as I need to catch up on their new stuff and I hope they have another goodbye gig in a few years...

I'm off now to sleep at the foot of the mountain...
I like 'The Bandstand' track...

Travel:
On the way back listened to Yes etc, Glastonbury DVD audio and every a-side of Robbie Williams.
On the way there, The HitchHiker's Guide To The Galaxy: Tertiary Phase and Escape the Rat Race.
