I'll say! I was shocked. Very pleased for Phil & co. See how it shapes up during the week. Good news for Duran Duran too - although their big ITV1 show on Saturday night was a help.Firthy2002 wrote:Not bad all things considered.

The album's a bit of a disappointment. Ten years, it took?

I got the album a couple weeks ago and I have to say I like it. I think it's more pop than the last one they did.

They landed at 44 and 11 respectively in the end.Radiophonic wrote:Midweeks suggest that Credo will be top 20 at the weekend. Duran's new album is currently no. 6.

Credo is, for the most part, meh. The two singles are great, as is Into the Night, but the rest of the album is disappointing. There are some excellent remixes of Never Let Me Go.

Rumour has it that they are record one more (10th) album and then quit. Phil Oakey apparently has said that he want to collaborate with every member of Human Leage, past and present, for the last album.

Melody Maker did a great pastiche in 1995 about how they got woken up to make an album every time there was a world cup, and were mortified that they'd missed it so threw an album together. Each time they woke up they found they had lost a few members...Syncratic wrote:So we'll get that in 2020, I guess.
Personally I think this new one's pretty good. Compare it with, say, the albums they released between 1981 and 1994, and it compares pretty favourably. Some of the songs are a bit lacking, but some are great, and I Monster's production is ace.
