Piers Morgan is a tosser, but his tweets to the United players are the best
michaelowen: @piersmorgan No raw nerve with me mate. My horse won today, got a league medal, beautiful family, another year at M.U (champions) #ecstatic!

Piers Morgan: @themichaelowen Did your horse actually run? Or did it get a winner's medal just by turning up in the paddock like its owner?
@piersmorgan About to interview my 2nd wife for @PiersTonight

G.Neville
RT@piersmorgan How the hell did you get 2 women to marry you?

Piers Morgan
RT@GNev2 I think the better question is how the hell did you get ONE to marry you?

G.Neville
RT@ @piersmorgan Personality Piers!

Piers Morgan
RT@GNev2 no offence T-Bag but you have the personality of an overly-grilled marshmallow.

G.Neville
RT@piersmorgan How would you describe the personality of your guests in the UK this year! I am Dynamite compared to them! Viewing figures poor

Piers Morgan
RT @GNev2 ratings have been great. Would love to interview you though - if you've got your bottle back since Vieira took it in that tunnel.

This England game is shocking. We are a terrible side when compared to Spain, Brazil, Holland etc.

You know there is something wrong when Michael Dawson isn't even in the squad and Joleon Lescott is

Apparently Spurs will sign Joe Cole for 3 million.

How did Bent miss that?

If you're signing Cole it looks like Modric's off to United.

Piss poor from England, useless midfield, don't get England sometimes, for their clubs they are great but can't do it for their country Switzerland aren't exactly a top team, but then again neither are England.

I'd be pointing the finger at the defence and goalkeeper before anyone else. Then be loooking at Darren Bent and Downing for missing sitters.

You can't conceded two goals like that.

But that's the point. England only have a handful of world class players. Cashley was one but he's been pretty crap recently; Gerrard's another but he's probably past his peak now; ditto Jar Jar.

So that just leaves Wilshere (the most promising English midfielder since Gazza) and Rooney, and the latter's Irish.

No top International side would have a Stewart Downing or Fat Frank in their side. England are basically in transition. The positive is that players like Fat Frank are now being dragged off. One of the most over-rated players i've ever known.

England need a Glenn Hoddle or a Paul Gascoigne. However, the biggest problem has been in goal. Hart promises to be a top keeper but even he is making errors. England haven't had a top goalie for a long, long time. Up until 2000, they had loads of good keepers.

Big game for Ireland tonight. Hope the Irish have double shin guards on. I wonder how many times Goran Pandev will dive about?

0-1 already.

Keane's fiftieth goal for his country  ; Puskas got 84 in 85 games for Hungary.

It's vital we win tonight; Russia won earlier and Slovakia are one-up. Trap's done brilliantly but we drew too many in the last campaign (we were undefeated until the play-off). We've got some top players coming through now and lots of Anglo-Irish like O'Hara and Pennant wanting to play for us like in the Big Jack days. We have to qualify.

*edit* Excellent rugby tackle from O'Shea there.
