Funnily enough, Dick van Dyke just published a memoir that's astonishing in it's bland inoffensiveness, like epic in how boring it is. Despite his battle with the bottle (conquered early on and all!). The AV Club gave the book a D grade. But they also had a separate interview with him and.. he's a genial awesome old man. A good egg. He's been tinkering with computer animation since the 90's, just for himself, loves it just because. Very likeable guy, nothing but good things to say about the people he's known. Which can be boring, but he's surprisingly up to date on cultural stuff. Seems like a very nice guy.

I hope he apologises for the ghastly Diagnosis: Murder, a show which manages to make Murder She Wrote seem positively Hitchcockian by comparison. I know he was in Bilko too though so I'll forgive him.

Funnily enough I've just ordered a DVD from the Netherlands called Dick van Dyke.
