Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric would command a transfer fee of more than £22m, according to his agent.

Chelsea have reportedly bid that figure for the 25-year-old Croat and had it rejected by their London rivals.

"Luka is happy at Spurs but if an offer came in that was acceptable to the club and player, we would be willing to discuss it," said agent Nikky Vukan.

"In my opinion, £22m is a valuation that is too low for the player."

Ray Wilkins on Modric,

"Any club with any designs on winning the Barclays premier league would want someone like Modric in their team, that's a fact of life. He's a wonderfully gifted footballer and I'm sure that he would enhance every club in the EPL, not only Chelsea."

Maybe he'd do well in the Scots prem too then? If he won the league up there he could add that to his Croatian league winners medal. Just a thought.

Apparently, anyone wanting him will have to pay a huge sum of money. We are talking over 60 million

Ray Wilkins - England international, Consumate professional, Highly respected coach, many, many years in the game at the highest level.

JSDouvres - Had a kick about at old trafford once and sucked Eric Cantona's c***.

I know who's opinion on Modric I agree with.

I like Ray Wilkins. He got stitched up at Chelsea. It would be nice if he came to Spurs but we already have an excellent coaching set up.

Man United fans would obsess over Luka Modric if he was their player. He's a class above any of their midfielders. No argument. Modric is one of those players that would get in just about every single team. He really is a top class footballer.

I loved watching Modric before he moved to Spurs. It took him a while to adapt to the EPL but I think he is now one of the best in the country. Spurs should keep him.

Spurs should hold out for as much as they can get from Chelsea. They're bound to pay £50 million because otherwise Abramovich will throw his toys out of the pram.

John O'Shea must be worth £100 million now.

Oh, somebody is having a go at the Erasure fan again! If anybody is sucking c***'s here it is you sucking off undertaker and Patrick, yeah I met Cantona, oh dear, end of the world! What are you on about Scottish t***.

And Ive never said Modric is not a decent player, never, I have just said that I don't believe United need him, Champions, Cup semi final plus Champions league runners up? And Spurs didn't even get into the Champions league, I know that certain people here don't put quality with success (?) but clearly if he's that good why aren't Spurs better? And let's not forget that United often play with 8, 9 or 10 players when you consider the useless O'Shea, Gibson and Evans etc. God they desperately need Modric! I just hope they get Young, Real quality and English, and just the type of player they need. Obviously all the football experts on here (?) will slaughter me for that, But been there, seen that.

No mention of Erasure in Skyhigh's post, you French c***.

Oh dear, I have just made a general statement, regarding someone's ethnicity, without thinking that it may offend someone else, unintentionally. :naughty:

You are judging Modric's ability on the ability of the club he plays for

Spurs finished 5th and got to the last 8 of the CL. That's not a bad season at all. You have to remember what is above you.

Can we continue to shred each other without resorting to racism and outright abuse?

Yes, because it's getting very, very boring now and I think a few forum holidays are in order if it doesn't stop.
