Been listening to michael jackson a lot lately.all of his stuff. I pretty much bought his whole catalog out of the blue for some reason. I cant believe.....he will never put out another CD again.
forgetting his personal life, that guy was responsible for putting out so much of the most amazing epic music, I cant believe we will never hear anything new from him.

I also bought his new CD "michael"....it was in the $4.99 "previously owned and returned"bin from hell at the record store.

I never thought I'd see the day when a michael jackson CD so soon was discarded after release...that this guy went out with such a wimper.....I understand the drama behind it....he never got to finish it....plus some of the songs that were finished were Frankensteined by producers and some tracks are hybrids of his singing and some sound alike..but I will take what i can get as he wrote most of them.....and it has a handful.... of some of his best music IMO....such as I like the way that you love me....best of joy...make it another day hold my hand.

I totally know this CD would have been totally different and some of the tunes that made it on would have not made the cut..and there would have been at least a couple of those patented huge epic tracks on there he is known for..such as thriller...earth song....cry..heal the world...but it really sucks he died such a senseless stupid death...and its all over now.

so anyways..... here is my favorite tune off the new one.its also stevie wonders fav.
"I like the way that you love me". this one is him. I like the little tribute to him via incorporating his demo instructions at the beginning.

they say that about everyone.only the year fluctuates. PSB,bruce springsteen,madonna,etc... etc....ect.
its above being true or false...it all ebbs and flows. sometimes someone who is seemingly done,gets big again. eitherway he was putting out IMO some of the best music of his life in the later years.

yeah that CD has some awesomeness on it, cry,unbreakable,you rock my world ,butterflies,break of dawn.
I think it was a tad too ballad heavy and possibly a few too many filler type songs.
plus I read sony stopped backing the CD fairly early due to a fall out with michael. the CD started out slow, and tommy motola supposedly was irritated by how much money it cost to make and decided to cut his losses. eitherway I listen to it all the time.

actually I think PSB are one of the few bands who live up to michaels epic symphonic style tracks. with songs like integral,luna park,and legacy etc etc.

I think 'Scream' was the last Jacko one I enjoyed. The video is still awesome. Does 'Michael' actually feature Michael?

he does sound just like michael. there are some tunes that apparently we know are actually michael...or at least most of him....

"hold my hand" -----as paris said that one is def him..
"make it another day"-----as lenny kravitz did that one with him
"monster"----recorded with 50 cent
"I like the way you love me"----as it was previously released on "ultimate" a compilation.
"behind the mask"----recorded in the 80's,a track left off thriller
"best of joy"----previously recorded and left off bad
"much too soon"----previously recorded.

the others,hollywood tonite,breaking news,keep your head up I couldnt say. although who knows if this jason malachi added to what michael already did...ie background vocals or parts of tracks that werent finished.

I do like the song you posted. But Michael had one record between 1995 and his death. While I've heard some tracks off it, and they sound pretty decent, that is one album. The three artists you mention keep putting out new material all the time. I think what Jarvis Cocker said about him holds I'm afraid. Obviously he was gifted, and obviously he has a huge following worldwide still, but the last 15 years don't have much to show for themselves.

Sidenote: When I was in bowling league as a youth in 1995, I remember a nerdy girl ask me if the song on the bowling alley speakers was "Michael". My thought was "who but this type of girl still listens to him?" So, yeah, by 1995, the "received knowledge" about Michael was not good.
